Ultimate Fighter Season 3 thread

Anyone watching this? The previews on with a preview coming next. The first elimination is in progress.(I'm thinking Shamrock's guy might win, not sure yet)

What do you guys think of the season so far?

I was taken aback when the guy with the speech impediment was there, he could possibly be a beast in the octagon.

I'm waiting for some Tito/Shamrock action, that stuff's bound to explode soon.

Everyone's gonna fight before the semi-finals as well, along with some other new stuff, the game's really changed.

Maintaining one's body is just as important as training techniques, if not more so. It's one of Ken's approaches to teaching, just give it some time and see how this turns out, they're already one win ahead, so don't rule him out yet.

It seems like tito was just picking guys that had heart and good work ethic. The cry baby red head dude said it best....this is mma, not boxing. And that guy had a jiu jitsu clinic ran on him. He looked like a fish out of water.

This season looks like it could be interesting, hopefully they have some talent this year. Man, the UFN was pretty brutal....they had two decent fights jardin/bonnar and steveson/neer. How the fuck do you have 12 wins....all by decision...who does rasheed think he is...matt linland.

Hmm, I completely missed last season(was it any good), but I loved the first one. And this season actually airs on my day off so thats cool. Looks like the new season is gonna be good, I thought it was funny that Ken had them doing some shit right outta world's strongest man but instead of stones they're lifting sandbags. LOL

They should have gotten a real nutritionist. It's like that one guy said, they're not training to be bodybuilders, they're fighters. He told them to eat steak for goodness sake.

Anyways, this season looks alright. I doubt it will match the awesome-ness of season 2. Luke Cummo is a beast.

looks like it's gonna be a good season. they actually listened to the fans and got rid of the gay reality show challenges. which should leave it even more for the action and leave less for them to complain....not to say they wont bitch.

I like having 2 5-min rounds with a sudden death round if it's a draw. That will definitely push the pace and have more exciting fights. Since fights on TUF is considered exhibition and not counting toward record, changing the format for entertainment value is not a big deal.

Setting up a rematch against forrest. That fight sells itself and they cant make it happen if he loses too many fights. because of this you get a bullshit decision. I watched that fight and I didnt see Bonnar taking that fight. 1st round bonnar lost, 2nd round was tie or small victory for bonnar, and he got beasted 3rd round. But sometimes in fights they think more about future fights when it comes decision time instead of actually judging what they saw.

Bonnar is sleeping with the judges. This is the second fight which he should have lost (the first being with Bobby). Meh, but whatever. This season of TUF will be interesting. Mike Stine is the athletic freak that is needed for each season (like Koscheck and Melvin). Except he doesn't have Koscheck's natural talent or Melvin's experience. Since there are no challenges, good riddance to him. He won't be of much use.

Ed Herman (red head guy) is actually from Team Quest. And his hair and his attitude just shows he's been hanging with Chris Leben. Is it just me or do a lot of Team Quest fighters outside of Randy Couture and Nate Quarry come off as mad shit talkers? (Herman, Josh Burkman, Chris Leben).

SO because jardine landed some leg kicks he wins the fight? I didn't see bonnar almost get knocked out twice.

It was a very close fight, and the judges picked bonnar, same thing happened with his fight with forrest.

That wasn't a bad call at all.

And I'm agreeing with everyone on the nutritionist, I didn't say it was more important to maintain/build your body up, but it is an important factor. Tito definantely picked smarter with his wrestling coach.

But Shamrock played his cards with the selection, building directly off Tito's picks.

I can see that guy with the shaggy hair(short-breath) being out early, though Shamrock claims he has the most ability, he complains and runs out of breath, then just stops working altogether. Not the best way to start

I was also referring to Ken when I said don't rule him out, his assistant coaches and training approach may be akward, but I think he can really turn them into excellent fighters if done right, same with Ortiz.

and speaking of Ortiz, I think he should have little trouble against Griffin, if any at all. Any thoughts on that?
