Since the other thread had a ton of posts and too much clutter, with the news announced, i figured it's best we create a new thread with more information at the beginning. Here we go:
What is Arcana Heart?
-Arcana Heart is a 2D fighting game created by Yuki. It was released in Japanese arcades December 22nd 2006.
What kind of characters are in Arcana Heart?
-It involves a cast of only females. For more information on the characters, check out this link here:

How do you play the game, and what are the notations while you're at it?
-Everything is done in the number notation. Here's what it is:

66 in the air = Air Dash Forward
44 in the air = Air Dash Backwards

866 = Instant Air Dash (also shortened to iad or IAD)
A+D = Throw (can usually be followed up into a combo, but has a somewhat large break window)
6A+D = Alternate throw (can't be followed up into a combo, but has a small break window)
A+D (at time of getting thrown) = Throw Break
There is air blocking, but certain moves cannot be blocked in the air.
What does the homing button do?
-It has 4 purposes:
1) Homing Cancel (abbreviated to HC), you can cancel your moves with the D button to create a Homing cancel (provided you use one homing bar of your homing gauge). This has a couple uses, you can use it to continue combo's by cancelling the recovery time of moves. You can also use it to turn a normally unsafe move into advantage by cancelling the recovery on it. These two are the main uses for homing cancels. As for the notation, if something is written HC6, then you homing cancel forward.
2) GC = Guard Cancel, while guarding, you can use the D button to cancel through and cancel the blockstun. Similar to Homing Cancels, GC6 is guard cancel forward, GC4 is guard cancel backwards. If you guard cancel forward (depending on your arcana choice, but we'll not get into that now), a red shield that clashes the opponents attacks pops up in front of you as you charge forward. If you guard cancel backwards, your character takes a jump back (meaning it'll go over lows) and then if you don't cancel the jump back in the air (only certain moves can be cancelled in this way), your character will automatically run forward after she's done with the jump back.
3) Movement. You can use the D button to do movements that you couldnt normally do. If you hold down the D button and your opponent is on the other side of the screen, you'll fly toward your opponent, literally. If you hold down forward and D, you'll dash along the ground, 4D will do a quick backdash, but like a guard cancel backwards, will send your characters with a forward dash after that.
4) Arcana usage - to be explained below
Can you explain the homing gauge a bit more in depth?
-There are two different effects of using a homing bar. If you use a homing cancel or a guard cancel, one bar of your homing gauge gets "X"ed out.
-If you use the D button to move or you tech off the ground or wall, it takes one bar of your homing gauge, but does not X it out.
How do i get my homing bars back then?
-There are 2 ways, one is to activate your arcana that you get once a round. This replinishes your homing gauge fully, and can only be done once a round.
-The only other way is time. If your homing bar is Xed out, then you have to wait for the X to disappear before your bar can begin to recover. Once the X disappears, your bar will begin to regenerate until it is full. Then it works on the next bar until your gauge is full. Now bars regenerate anytime you DONT use a homing cancel or guard cancel. If you're sitting there doing nothing, it'll recover (even if it doesnt look like it when the X bars are there, theyre indeed recovering). If you're hitting the opponent, if youre getting hit, your bar will recover. However, once you use a homing cancel if you're comboing the opponent, your bar will not recover for the duration of the combo.
What is an "Arcana"?
-An Arcana is something that you choose after you select your character. They're all "themed" (ex, fire, water, dark, death, etc) and each do different things, whether it be give a fireball to your character, or the ability to teleport or set out traps on the ground. There are three main parts to an arcana choice:
1) Moves. They each have their own movelist that's done with the D button. The stone one has a 41236D move thats a big stone punch. The leaf one has a 236D which is a vine hit forward. The fire one has fireballs. The lighting one has lightning strikes. etc. All specials are done with the D button. However, some arcana's have things that they give to the character that isn't a direct attack. An example is that Partineas, the Love arcana has a special ability that if you double jump in the air and then hold [8], you'll float down as opposed to falling at normal speed. This is just one such example.
2) Supers. In addition to regular attacks, they each have their own special super. It takes one bar for each of these as well, just like a regular super. All Supers are done with the D button.
3) Arcana summons. In Arcana activated mode, done with A+B+C, which acts as a burst and will get you out of MOST attacks (not during the middle of supers, but any other time, yes). During this time, your special bar depletes and during this time, each arcana has a different "effect" that is linked below. In addition, you can summon the actual arcana itself with 236A+B+C. This differs depending on which one you choose. Some of them are a one time grab and its either hit or miss, others are a giant attack on the screen, etc. They're all different. Using that uses up the rest of your special bar, whether you had 9 bars left or half of your last bar left, it will drain it and do the same damage.

-As i mentioned earlier, if you do A+D to throw the opponent, you can follow up with a combo (for most characters) if you use a homing bar, but the break window is much larger than if you throw with A+D. Hence why when watching vids, you might see more players using 6 or 4A+D instead of the other one that does more damage.

-When you tech off the ground or off a wall, you are invulnerable to attacks, but very vulnerable to throws. However, after you tech, you can do special and super moves almost immediatly off the ground.
Moves that are unblockable in the air (thanks again to someAzNdude for the list, i just edited a couple things):
All 3Cs and 6Cs are air unblockable no matter which character is using it.
Certain characters have air unblockables other than 3/6C
Mei Fang, Yoriko, and Konoha has 6B
Kamui has 3B
Kira has 2B, 5B, 5C
Maori has 623A
Fiona has 623AB

Whats this i hear about Arcana Heart and Arcana Heart Full? What's the difference?
-Arcana Heart Full is an update to Arcana Heart that was released around April. Because it was about $800, some arcade operators did not recieve it. The difference comes down to balance differences for the characters, and a training mode in the arcade version. There's a few graphical differences, such as the pictures of the characters under their names and the color of the clock, but not much else.

So which one is the console version going to be?
-The console version will be Arcana Heart Full, but will give the option to use the regular Arcana Heart versions of characters. Most likely, all tournaments will be run on Full only, though.

Well, until then, is there any place i could go to play it outside of Japan?
-Sure, Chinatown Fair in NYC has an Arcana Heart Full machine,
University Pinball in Philadelphia now has an Arcana Heart Full machine, Arcade Infinity in California has an Arcana Heart machine, and Planet Zero in Houston has an Arcana Heart Full machine. Also, lovegety in Toronto has a Regular Arcana Heart machine.

Tier List?
- Long story short, arcana is too hard to tier. Arcana's make a huge difference. However, it's widely agreed that in the original AH, that the 3 K's make the top three characters, Konoha, Kamui, Kira. For top tier Full, the Japanese players tend to think Lieselotte is top tier, but after that, it really gets fuzzy because any of the characters are really good. However its widely agreed that Fiona and Yoriko are at the bottom (theres almost no question about this one), but that doesn't necisarilly make them unplayable, or unable to win with them. They just take a bit more effort because their damage output is low for the risk involved with the character. Everyone else in between is just that - somewhere in between. Keep in mind the arcana selection also makes a huge difference to some characters. Having a top tier character but a bad arcana can lose to a lower tier character with a good arcana. I will say this though:
The game is balanced enough where you can play whatever character you want to and still win.
Those wondering who the top is so they can play them and win, its not that easy. Those wondering if their character is gonna be bottom tier, don't worry, you'll be fine with whoever you pick as long as they match how you play. So stop asking about tiers and just play who you want to. You'de be better off watching videos to see how characters play instead of looking at a small list that says which characters are better than which. =P
