not even crouch lp? or an uppercut of ure own?

  2. #1127
when i say you cant punish i mean if he was to dash and block then he would block your uppercut, if he was to dash then throw, the throw usually comes out before your normal (even most light attacks), if he was to srk after a dash then you either have to block, dash back or do something with more invincibility. only real way to punish or avoid taking more damage is to know what he's gonna do next.

If you beat your oponnent down to less than half life and they have 2+ ex stocks and an ultra bar, they WILL be doing their best to try and get that shoryu to your chest. so use that against them, bait.
It's one thing to jump in and get dped, but really good Sagat/Ryu players will also find ways to get DP -> SADC - Ultra on you by becoming more aggressive and constantly attack you. Their goal is to get a combo string to connect so that it will end in jab DP -> SADC - Ultra.

In this case, you just have to watch the meters, watch for setups and play good defense. Ryu especially. He will try to set it up so he can continually cross you up and poke string you to death until he hits you while your guard is down. A good Ryu/Sagat player will not DP you until he knows you aren't blocking anymore or he uses 1/2 a Super bar to try and sneak in a SADC to throw or attack. The latter would be good because that means he has one less chance to do DP -> SADC - Ultra for a while.

Avoid being cross-up bait, I guess. That's all I can really recommend... but then you have to deal with fireball pressure. That's okay with Chun (I know Az mains her). She can Ultra at the right time.

for some reason good bison players can hit me with cr.lp or cr.lk after i uppercut dash cancel. same with him doing an FA dash and he would still hit me before i do anything. just seems like his moves have fast startup to punish me. and no i'm not a noob at this game lol, i won 1st place in both vancouver bc and seattle tournaments, it might be my problem that i delay the dash cancel a bit (because sagat needs it or he will end up on the other side), but ryu seems to be the same, getting hit after i do uppercut SA cancel dash in

    Notes:

-- As I was typing this out a lot of these guys were playing, so their BP/Match-Win ratio may be different by the time you see this. Rankings are calculated at the end of the day, so this is accurate as of midnight last night. Today's results may not effect the rankings that much, except Dashio might take the 19th spot, and Nemo might surpass Nuki.

-- For those who forgot, Battle Points (BP) are calculated for all those who use the IC cards. You get points for winning and lose points for losing. BP is scaled, so beating someone with far less BP only nets a gain of about 10-20 BP. Beating someone with more BP/about even level nets 100-200 BP. To give you a frame of reference, anyone in the 20,000's is a solid player at least - 30-40,000's is good enough to win tournaments and be the champ of an arcade with good comp, and 50,000 is enough for most people to say they have one of the best (insert character here) in the country, excepting the top 20 above of course.

-- If the percentage doesn't add to to the Match/Win math, don't blame me, blame Capcom. I just copied what was there on the mobile site.

-- There was about a week where Ojisan Boy overtook Daigo for the #1 spot, but Daigo has since reclaimed the top.

-- Obviously Sagat is dominating the top 20. A few months ago, there were a lot more Ryu's and Zangief's, but they've fallen off apparently.

-- If you want to search for match vids of these characters, try YouTube or Nico with their player name in Japanese, and maybe ストリートファイターIV / 4 or ストIV / 4. Note that the "IV/4" means to search for either "ストIV" or "スト4".

-- I've played against Aaruefu's Sagat a few times. He's good. His command of normals is awesome, but he can also play a good zoning game - he can take off 50% damage just through Tiger Shots.

It's dope to see CvS2 players like Bouya, Iyo, and Shiro in the top 20.

Interesting to see Toki no Tobira up there, he was one of the top Amakusa players in Samurai Tenka that inspired me to use him. Also used Mr. Heart in HnK. Always learns characters slightly off the beaten path REALLY well.

"aaruefu" is of course R.F. of Guilty Gear fame.
The background is favored in this matchup.

Hey guys, I've been wondering, what are the juggle mechanics in this game? Are there some characters who can do insane amount of juggles like 3s? Or is everyone limited?

I'm glad the new characters don't have any fireballs, because they are entertaining when they are in your face.

Weird that there's no higher ranked rufus's. But then again, he's one ugly bitch so not surprising.

He's a good character, but he's not as good as people made him out to be in the early going. Same with Gief. The only characters aside from Sagat that have more than 1 rep in the top 20 are Chun and Viper, which is surprising to me. Pretty incredible that only 3 characters have 2+ reps in the top 20 and that only one has more than 2.

    In short: No.

The juggles are much more like the CvS games or ST a little bit. The basics are that very few normals and specials juggle but some set up juggles with anything. Most EX specials, ultras and supers juggle but there is a limit of 3 "moves" in your juggle(Not that a ton of characters can take advantage of this)

In general the most common setups for good juggles are EX move -> Ultra, or Special cancelled with focus attack -> ultra

the combo system is pretty cool though, you can do a lot with the focus cancel.

i dont know how this works..
As I said, some people were actually playing as I was typing. Nemo was playing, and winning, so his BP was going up. I just wrote down his current BP as of that moment. Rankings are calculated once a day, so the order didn't take into account his BP gains. Right now he has moved into the 7th spot.

Match count and win ratio actually has nothing to do with the ranking, its all about BP.

Wha? Ryu is top tier in this game. Everything he has is completely solid. Solid AA, high damage, solid normals, amazing FA, extremely versatile ultra/super and a ton of mix-up. Off the top of my head, I know ryu has 4 different ways to land a full damage ultra not counting a lvl 2 FADC. A lot of the cast only has 1-2 ways to hit an ultra.

    Jab SRK AA
    FADC SRK
    EX Hadouken (corner)
    Fireball trap

4 very easy ways to hit ultra
