1UP Game Night with Street Fighter 4 1/6/09 (Tuesday 8pm EST/5pm PST)
URL for the show: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3172107
Yeah I know people already posted about it in the video links thread, but I think this should get as much attention as possible since they are accepting questions in this thread.
Yeah they may not answer any important shit, but it's worth a try to milk some real info. I posted in there already about the rumor of Sagat f+RH x2 being taken out, and what's up with Friends. Just bombard them with good questions and try to outnumber the questions about achievements or w/e...
EDIT added a link to the actual stream, that'll probably come in handy...

Mmmh, good find, Dandy.
Hopefully we get a little more out of them than stuff you can find for yourself on Google.

Tizoc I would ask but I already posted and I don't want to seem like I'm spamming posts or something. Also I think posts have to go through admins or something cause mine hasn't shown up yet. If that's the case I really can't believe they let that mile long post with retarded ass questions through.

Lol, yeah, I got my post in right after his. With my luck, they'll answer a ton of his questions(including if SF4 takes place between SF2 and SF3) and cut off at him.
I focused on questions about a patch and if arcade will get the console differences.

Wow that one guys long list of retarded questions is... did he even research the game at all?
I want questions like, "Are they nerfing or buffing characters with the console version and do they plan on constantly trying to nerf and buff characters with online 'patches'?"
Which I certainly hope they never do...

So that if a char is powerfully broken or if a char is immensely weak (claw) than they can remain in their respective locations on the tier lists?
Balance patches are a must if they want this game to succeed and carry on for years ahead.

I think his concern is that Capcom will nerf things that turn out to have been balanced all along but was thought to be too good early on. There should be a good amount of time before something is patched. People had the same fears about Tekken 6. I don't know what the case is for that game now because I stopped caring.

Non-patched games have survived for years... but typically, because they released multiple versions of games. Patches seem to be the more elegant solution to a problem they've been solving with costly multiple releases. Capcom (or, really, any fighting game publisher) never gets a game right their first try. Ono has said he'll wait 6 months before deciding whether a character needs tweaking.
Anyway, don't want to contribute to the derailing of the thread. I'm tempted to add my own questions to the list, but they'll probably be covered. I just want to see all the supers/ultras of the new characters, and maybe what can be FADC'D and what can't. Also tempted to see the alternate costumes for the new characters. From my understanding, this isn't an interview with Capcom. They're just going to be playing the console release and answering reader questions. They won't be able to answer questions that are independent of the game, and better addressed to Capcom.

I understand. A good example would be 3S, if Capcom could of patched Yun and Chun then the community would of been ecstatic. The only implication would be that 3S took awhile to figure out just who was on top and why they (he and she) were there. SFIV doesn't look to be facing that problem as gamers have been gouging over it since day one. Every detail will be figured out and analyzed in a much narrower time span than it took for 3S. That is why I think Capcom can come to a conclusion on what would need fixing far sooner then it would of taken had they wanted to patch 3S.
I do agree however that they shouldn't be hasty and should take tournament level players suggestions into consideration when creating the patch.

Can you link to the interview this came from? Not saying you're wrong. I just don't remember hearing/reading that, and it's good info.

My problem with patches is that I don't want them in numbers like World of Warcraft where they constantly make or break certain classes (characters in this case). I don't want to keep having to change playstyle because they decided to drop the speed on that it practically becomes useless and you will get punished out of it everytime you even think about using it.
I wouldn't mind patches every 6 months or so though. That's enough time to figure out if something is in need of tweaking.

Awesome post. This will be something to look forward to. I'll ask for Rose and Dan gameplay since I already have an account. Is it ironic that it will stream on Tuesday?

The top 8 this year had 6 Chuns in it. Retarded. Who care if it's a highlight reel anyone can agree that game needs fixing.

I thought the deal was, they weren't bothering with balance tweaks for the console version release because they want to put it out in front of the bigger audience and see how they play the game before they jump to conclusions. balance tweaks wouldn't come until the later patches
but if they did nerf some of Sagat's options, I'm not gonna complain...
anyway, I'd love for someone to ask how robust the training mode is. Ono's said it'll go as far as you walking you through combos for different characters. will it teach you some ingenuous shit, or does it stick with the basics?

"Are they going to add the Street Fighter III characters of Alex, Dudley, Elena, Hugo, Ibuki, Necro, Gill, Oro, Sean, Yun, Yang, Remy, Q, Urien, Twelve in the console versions of Street Fighter IV?"
Whoever posted that needs to fucking die.
