So it's the TE stick except not Street Fighter/Capcom licensed.

I actually prefer the SF4 licensed version's look way better.

Looks like it's Madcatz Vs Hori from now on. Hori pretty much had the monopoly on the joystick market. Can Madcatz take on the joystick masters Hori? I say Hori has the upper hand at the moment, unless Madcatz starts bringing out the SE edition sticks

Ironically, although the rumors about the game were in fact true, the stick postings were 100% fake. It was either a mockup composed by the site themselves to generate traffic (it worked), or they were fooled too and pulled the image from someplace else. It didn't come from Mad Catz, and it certainly diudn't come from Capcom.

They would be cool though, yeah?

jdm714 is right, the MvC2 TE stick rumor was debunked a while ago. Your local retailer is likely misinformed.

Aw man, I want one. Though I hope they release a new version of the SE Sticks. I'd love to pick up one.

Capcom wanted to make a limited run of both the SE and TE sticks. The TE especially. They probably saw that the markup value of the TEs on ebay (and elsewhere) were ridiculously high (some sold for $800+) and wanted to make a few extra bucks while the iron was hot. Right now, they've reached demand as you can find one pretty easily, and they can be had on ebay for less than retail by a good portion sometimes.

This is a smart move by madcatz. Keep up the quality work to feed demand, even without the SF4 license on there. This will probably be released for a cheaper price than the SF4-themed, so this is a good thing.
