Yea with all these sticks coming out, the SFIV and the ones made by hori are bound to drop in price
btw, i just shot a post over to the capcom-unity forums, and it looks like the mods there have no info and are just saying any info that may come out will be posted in a unity blog.
oh, and i totally agree about the button/stick layout - i have broad shoulders and a big hand and definitely would like to see bigger separation between the too as well as more robust and hardier parts (cough, Happ, cough).
My local GameStop also has a September 24th release date for this stick...
Face up to reality and recognize that this will be a rehash of the SFIV TE with new artwork and different color Sanwa buttons (in all likelihood). I'm thinking they'll change to 6 buttons of a color other than white but retain 2 black or grey buttons like the first TE variant released at Comic-Con.
(EDIT: I know I'm wrong -- it was 6 orange plus 2 yellow buttons for the SDCC TE stick. I'm getting mixed up with the Asian TE pics that were previewed from Play-Asia and that recent Asian fighting tourney...)
Why $10 more is being charged is beyond me but it's probably a licensing issue with Marvel Comics. Capcom does not own the Captain America, Spider-Man and the X-Men characters. (Those characters are far more valuable license-wise to Marvel after 10+ years of videogames and motion pictures that have increased the visibility of the characters. In other words, Marvel can charge more for licensing if it wants.) MadCatz now has to pay for TWO character licensing companies instead of one.
The Happ parts many of you want in this stick probably won't fit the case. Those buttons are much longer than the Sanwa and Seimitsu parts... I don't think the il/Happ sticks would fit the cases well, either.
Frankly, I don't think the buttons or sticks as they are will be bad for the M Vs C2 game. It's easy enough to mod Sanwa's and Seimitsu's for higher tensions and I'm not worried about wearing out the buttons since I'm not much of a masher on this game. That really doesn't help win this game at any rate...

I dont think they're that bad, but i do have a mas stick sitting here that I feel much more comfortable playing mvc2 on. you bring up a good point about the springs changing, but to say that mashing doesn't help isn't true. It directly affects how much damage a lot of things do in marvel.

Its not to say that I dont like it, I've played on them and get used to it. If I had my choice I'd space them further apart, but maybe I'll end up giving that one to my boy.

At any rate, this M v C2 stick is just going to be an artwork swap.
Expect the rest to be pretty much the same stick sold since March/April this year.
I would suspect that MadCatz has probably stopped making the SF IV TE sticks unless they say otherwise.
Wouldn't make much sense to keep making more of those SF IV editions if they're ramping up to produce 15,000(?) of these M v C2 sticks.
It already looks like there's almost a glut of the SF IV TE sticks if they're being discounted 33% at some online sites.
I know GameStop isn't stocking the SF IV TE sticks but that means nothing. They just don't want to be stuck with a bunch of joysticks like they were with the Tekken 5 Anniversary bundles. That's why you have to pay for pre-orders at GS if you absolutely want a limited edition joystick bundle.
well I went to work at Gamestop today and looked at the new releases and saw the MvC2 TE stick got pushed back to 11/4/09 instead of 9/24/09. I was pissed so I might just cancel my preorder and get a PS3 slim instead. If madcatz is going to release a TE stick with different art, they might as well start selling templates for $5 a pop.

Your gamestop reservation doesn't guarantee that it's coming out, simply that when/if it does you have one reserved. Gamestop could have just jumped the gun before everything's penned and official on it.
It wouldn't be the first time a product has been canceled. I can see it selling though, so I don't think Madcatz wouldn't do it.

I'm still waiting for the pre-orders for the Asian version of the TE, too.
Nothing on that yet except the pictures leaked by Play-Asia and occasional pics of the sticks at tournaments and a few pics of what looks to be a revised button layout for the Asian 360 TE.
It is kind of frustrating. The news about the M Vs C2 stick isn't encouraging, either, although I suspect MadCatz will still release the stick later this year. The pushback on the date is dumb, though...
Still expecting both upcoming market releases of the TE's to be full Sanwa, though.
On the other hand, I went ahead and bought another TE during the recent Fry's sale outfitted with new faceplate art, full Seimitsu parts (love the stick, the Pearl buttons feel a lot like Sanwas), and a Plexi from Art Hong.
Kept the stock bezel since I like that part. If they keep the bezel red on the next round or two of TE's and black looks better for the art/buttons, I'll probably color the bezel black next time around...
Man, I honestly don't understand why you would pre-order something of which there's no confirmation/picture. Anyways, more power to those who do. If this is happening, they'll announce it with more than enough time for you to reserve one.

I saw it tonight at the Gamestop managers expo. It's real. Don't know if I'm allowed to post pic yet as I don't wanna risk losing my job but it's very nice. It's just the te stick with an all black case, white bezel, art it an awesome pic with marvel on one side and capcom on the other.
Pretty sure it's a pic on the net already but I'm posing from my iPhone and have no time to search for it. I'll try when I get back Thursday. Buttons are 6 yellow and 2 white with a yellow ball top. If someone higher up says it's cool to post the pic I will...

Well I can't even post the pic until thursday when I get home but thinking about it now there was a mad catz rep right next to me when I took the pic (lots of people were taking pics actually) and they never said I couldn't...So I don't think it's that big of a deal. I just gotta be careful with stuff like that. I'll post it asap if it's not already up by the time I get home...
Here it is. According to the Global PR Director of Madcatz, it's okay to take the pictures. Obviously if they didn't want picture taken, he'd have told me 'No'.

If the "Femme Fatale" can get pushed by marketing and bean counters as a viable product, they better damn sure be able to sell a MVC2 stick..that art on the FF is awful
