What
FreezeCracker’s first tournament at this brand new venue, glorifying Street Fighter IV in this double elimination fight to the death!

When and Where
The tournament will take place in Tallahassee, FL, on November 13th, 2009. The doors will open at 3:00 PM in which registration will begin. The actual tournament will start at 6:00 PM.

Entry Fee and Prizes
There is a $2 venue fee going towards the VENUE!! The entry fee which will be 100% for the pot is $5. The prize pool is split 60% to 1st place, 25% to second place, and 15% to third place. There will also be random tournament prizes given out from the games in the backseat of my car. If 6 or less people enter a game 2nd place will get their money back, and 1st place will get the rest.

Rules
Played on Xbox 360. Wireless Controllers will be available if you do not provide your own controller. All characters unlocked. Best two out of three matches set at default rounds and time. No button macros, no pausing, no turbo. For game specific questions, please contact Geoff Mendicino at freezecracker dot gmail at com (switch that around appropriately)

The tournament will be double elimination format, again. If 5 or less players are in a tournament it will be round robin instead.

This sounds very nice, but starting at 5:00 p.m. makes it impossible for those of us that work 9-5 to get there before starting time. Anyway it could be pushed back an hour or so??

I'm pretty amazed with the high amount of interest in this and actually having Tallahassee people interested in this game. 8)

We have a good number of people in Tallahassee that play any and all fighting games, actually. Probably 10 or more core players. As for SFIV in particular about 5 of us play/played that seriously, plus a number of people who exist here (this forum) that we've never even met (you, lelouch, Jarv). And I'm just talking about the people I personally know, it's a popular game so I'm sure there are lots of people around that play it...just not seriously.

Blah-- It's too late to officially announce (what with all our fliers out at all the local game places and stuff) and change things to include Tekken 6, but we're already in the planning for a T6 Tourney from when I get back from my business trip in Miami. Keep your ears open for that, I'll be sure to let everyone know. But at the center before and after the actual tournament you guys are welcome to play anything you'd like.

By any chance, you guys don't know Daniel Metz, do you? I'm chasing ghosts.

Edit: Also I'm in talks with my old company uStream trying to convince them to run a stream of the tournament live and front paged. I think it's going to happen? Hope so. 8)

If this goes well, I'd definitely support some weekly tournies for various games (namely GG, BB, T6, etc).

I'll be there for the tourney, but won't be entering if it's on 360.

I'd prefer it on PS3 too :\ I have PS3 copies of a bunch of fighters if that's a problem.

Yeah, the reason we got it on 360 is just personal preference and equipment for 360 (including my fightstick). I'm open enough for PS3 any other time, if demand is high enough of course.

The owners are talking to me about having a league night/mini-tourneys for a discounted price, and with enough feedback from you guys we can definitely make it happen. They're really open to everything-- they didn't have BlazBlue before but I talked to them about it and first thing they did was snatch a copy.

Thanks to everyone's support of this thing I'm starting, I'm really stoked for how it'll turn out.

This just occurred to me, but this is probably the most important aspect to me...what sort of display will be used? Being a LAN center my first assumption is that it's going to be an HD setup of some sort, and that it's going to have noticable display lag...because most of them do. Will there be an SD setup on hand, by chance?
