Default Need some general Akuma info

Sup guys,

I just recently started playing Third strike and cant believe I waited so long to play this game gah!!! Anyway I am looking for some general Akuma info I tried the search and didnt come up with anything so if you wouldnt mind helping me out with some info.

First question is I have been sitting in pratice mode for the last day and I cannot consistently get strong/dp to connect after the 2 hits on a forward/heli. It looks like you have about a split second to connect it. Any advice here I would GREATLY appreciate.

Second is there anywhere I can get some great game play videos for Akuma. I read the post below about going to goforbroke and looking up game buy the guy "Match" but I cant get any vids from there. If anyone can post some links to vids or where I can look specifically I would be in your dept.

Thanks all for any info you can impart on my ass

For one thing, forward hurricane into dp is harder on some characters than on others. Try to get it right on Chun, Alex, Makoto, Q, and Elena first, they're the easiest to hit with it. After that, just try to get used to the timing and how close you have to be for it to work. Once you're good at that, switch to fierce dp.

Dragon punch after Forward Hurricane does not work on everyone. Use short Hurricane.

I have found that you have to use strong dp on some chars and fierce dp on others after the forward hk of course.. (have landed on everyone i believe). short hk is great as long as it's an easy setup as it will miss the short-med chars that are ducking.

You're getting ground Forward HK, Dragon Punch to work on everyone? Are you playing on DC?

Yeah this is the better option. C.mk/s.hp, short hurricane, hp dp does good enough damage as it is.

I play on PS2 and ARC. Who can you not hit? The timing is extremly rough and remember has to be different dp for diff chars. I know the value of short hk but if it's a med or short char you will miss if they are ducking. For example, on shotos i finish with strong dp after the forward hk.

I seen a lot of people who do a dive kick (uppercut kick), but the move appears like a regular jump. No grab, no kick, and no punch come out. How do you do that trick?

At the top bar, pick the second link from the right, bottom vid. Look at Akuma. His diving kick looks weird...

I was reading the SF3 guide book the other day and came across how to do this. Apparently after doing
you just press the K as close to the ground as possible. The dive kick wont animate.

Yeah you have to press the kick button as close to the ground as possible, like almost when your right on top of it. It is a very important tool in Akuma's game. I use it in his air mixups. Its really hard for the opponent to tell what I'm going to do since I active his dive kick to make contact as low to the ground anyway. When you alternate that between his Hyakki Shuu,Gouzan,Goushou,Goujin, and last but not least Gousai. His air raid becomes deadly. I Find the Hyakki fake most effective when the opponent has low energy. I Feal that 65% of people get "NERVOUS" when they have low energy, so they automatically block not even throw out a attack let alone a parry. So then you land in their face and let them eat a 3 frame startup grab witch if timed correctlly can beat some weak attacks and most strongs in a limitted manner.
