Akuma+Ryu Stamina/Stun= Top Tier?
Would he be ranked equal to the top three(Yun, Ken, Chun), or even ABOVE the current top tiers??? Even without any EX moves. The extra stamina would give a HUMAN a chance to at least learn of the opponents patterns/strategies without dying.

Akuma has an insane amount of options when having opponent in corner. Hell he has the in mid-screen combat too. More than yun, ken or chun ever can think of. He stuns faster then ryu so he already has that(we do not count supers). But i dont think it's something important for akuma. He lives on rushdowns.
If he'd had health he would have been, yet again in a sf-game, god tier.

I don't agree that akuma lives on rushdowns. He controls space really well via the air fireball.
I believe.
Rockafellar's akuma is INSANE

I use Akuma 85% of the time as a rushdown character. The other 15% would be used for zoning. The zoning comes in to play when I'm trying to figure out a players patterns or faults. Then when I have recorded the players data. Thats when the "fun" begins a.k.a the RuShDoWn

Akuma's strongest asset, I feel, is that he has the ablity to control the pace of the fight whenever he wants, whereever he wants.
He can switch from pure offense to pure defense, just like that.
Most corner traps are nullified by his teleport, and his offensive options are crazy.
He can play at almost all ranges (very close, 1 char length away, far) very well.
The hardest part, I find, is maintaining your game going on when the match is on. When the opponent is almost dead, that last part is hard to kill off, I find.
And a few hits landed on Akuma is very psychologically damaging, because he's got "full body testicle" sydrome.

I've never seen Akuma's lack of vitality described so vividly.

LoL very well said.
When I miss a parry block with Akuma and I get hit with a nice combo, that really suckz. The energy goes from something to nothing...really quick ..... I guess its supposed to balance him out.
For the simple fact about his stamina, Akuma is one of the most overlooked tournament characters. But I do think that alot of people missuse Akuma and they use his "Stamina" as an excuse to cover up their flaws.

Indeed. Far too many people use him and then use his low stamina as a cushion for their defeat. Akuma's a good solid character, just like any other shoto. However, his low stamina forces one to change the playstyle of the shoto somewhat significantly in order to use him properly. With Ken or Ryu, you can always afford to guess wrong on a random super because there's not a whole lot in the game that can rape you off one mistake.
The major issue with playing Akuma is really human emotion. He can rack up major damage on others extremely fast, but the moment you start smiling to yourself is when it all gets set even from one combo.

i agree with "xXxDa_RaGexXx" that about 85% of the time, akuma should be used as a rushdown, while the other time using "safe" moves with good recovery as to not be punished for a blocked move. I find that once you know the opponets "tricks" and wut not, you can see whats comming so u can use moves that will either stop it or go around it, using akumas many angles of attack (not being predictable is the key). And when i think of other shotos like ken,...well lets just say the word "unpredictable" does NOT come to mind

Fuck Akuma. Shoto clones are the unholy trinity of scrubtastic sluts.
A good akuma player is really annoying. A mediocre Akuma who depends on sluttly dive kicks will quickly be introduced to the concept known as parrying and destroyed very quickly.
Also Akuma's stage music gets on my nerves. Alsow who the fuck fights in sandals. You cannot realisticly expect to fight someone when wearing fucking wooden sandals.

hmmm i guess u havent played many good akumas then. The only annoying thing about a good akuma is that you can not block or parry him as easily as other shotos. And akuma is a "shoto clone"???? if anything, he is the only unique shoto out of the 3 (4, if u count sean) only a good akuma can win, beacouse of his low life any scrub ryu, who can do a shoryuken could be a threat, unlike ken or ryu who can make a mistake or two and just walk it off so to speak.

Controlling space you say? well... i guess you are right about this if the opp. is urien or dudley and so on. But vs. characters like yun, yang, makoto and so on he needs to do what he does best. Rushing.
