    - HRAP1 version 2 is essentially the same as the regular HRAP, but according to some reports, the Hori buttons used are of even lesser quality, and the mounting area has been altered, so sticking a LS-32 isn't really possible anymore.

    - Apparently when modding the HRAP2's buttons, it is recommended to use snap-ins as opposed to screw-ins as there is not enough space due to the mounting area of the new layout.

    Soul Calibur 3 HRAP:
    - Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK
    - Hori Buttons
    - Buttons soldered onto PCB
    - SC3 art
    - Button layout is Seimitsu 2P side panel layout

    X O L2 R2
    - Pic: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...k-70-imt.html#

US T5 Hori stick (NOT a HRAP, but usually confused for one):
    - Hori Buttons and Stick
    - Buttons soldered onto PCB
    - Tekken art
    - Button layout is Seimitsu 2P side panel layout
    - Button placement:
    L1 [] /\ R1
    L2 X O R2
    - Work and are lag-free with these converters:
PS --> XBOX - Dragonbox - when choosing colors, HP and HK are switched.
    PS --> Dreamcast - Innovation
PS --> PC - Wind Spirit
    - Pic: http://img.gamespot.com/gamespot/ima..._screen001.jpg

    Modding the sticks:

    Original and CFJ:
    - Replacing the stock buttons w/Sanwa pushbuttons: Simply open up the HRAP, remove the quick disconnects off the Hori buttons, pop the buttons out, then put in the Sanwa pushbuttons, hook up the quick disconnects to those and booyaa, you got yourself a HRAP fully equipped with Sanwas. Recommended buttons for this switcheroo are Snap-ins due to the Metal Panel, but Screw-ins should work too.
    - Replacing the JLF with a LS-32:
    http://www.geocities.jp/u3q_yusaku/seimitsu.html

    HRAP1 version 2:
    - Replacing the buttons is almost the same as the OG HRAP and CFJ HRAP, but the QDs are slightly harder to remove for some reason. So here is a diagram on how to remove them to avoid having sore hands (kudos to spoon for the diagram):

Can I still buy a Special Addition or Special Edition HRAP?
    - At this moment in time, your best bet would be either ebay or Yahoo Japan or any other auction site.

Now some mod has to sticky this, so we can slowly kill off all the "what is the difference in blank HRAP" threads.

Finally. Now all those pointless threads can die. Good job

I would suggest this a sticky.

God dammit I've been explaining the differences between the HRAP and T5 HRAP for more than 5 times the past week.

You guys can even post about converters and crap, and I can update the first post with them (don't have a Xbox, so I dunno about ps2->xbox converters).

For the HRAP and T5 Hori, these converters WORK and are lag-free.

PS --> XBOX - Dragonbox - when choosing colors, HP and HK are switched.
    PS --> Dreamcast - Innovation
PS --> PC - Wind Spirit

I'm not sure if the Japanese T5 HRAP would work with these converters, but the PCB is pretty much identical to the American one so give it a try.

Oh, and Kyoji, you might want to mention that the Sanwa HRAP SE is red and the Seimitsu one is blue, for the ones who don't know.

Are you sure? Cause I heard alot of complains about it being lag or didn't even work, and this goes towards mostly to SFAC.

EDIT: Never mind, thanks for the better link for the US T5 stick FMJaguar.

Anyhoo, about CrotchMonkey's suggestion for Xbox magicbox, I too have heard problems with SFAC, anyone confirm this? I'll update the top post if all things go good for it.

Any ideas on an adaptor to use the HRAP with a Saturn?
    I've been looking at this.
But the reviews on the site don't bode well.
If this is no good, does anyone have some other reccomendations?

I've used that Saturn convertor myself. Remapping the buttons is tricky since it uses a retarted button conversion, but it works.

ive never had one problem with the magicbox + hrap combo, works perfect. infact ive never heard a negative complaint about it, everyone seems to have the magicbox suggested and recommended from previous use.

Let's say the special addition is not available from what I've found. Sold out?

^ The special addition and special edition no longer exist. They were only available for special orders thru Hori's site. And they sold out really fast. Some people here at SRK were able to nab some, but that was because of friends in Japan.

Oh. Is HRAP really that vulnerable to scratches?

  16. #16
^ Regular, yes because of the mirror finish, but it's more of a magnet to fingerprints and smudges.

It's still a nice stick though, especially if you mod it with Sanwa pushbuttons.

cuz i'm abt to place the order at play-asia,can someone pls give me some advice on this combination

can some1 explain the difference in feel between the T5 stick and the orignal HRAP. I used both and I can't feel the difference. Then again I only tested the T5 stick for a couple of matches,I own the HRAP so I'm pretty used to how it feels.

Oh yeah, I use my HRAP with a MagicBox converter with the SFAC and it works perfect!! It also works on live with no problems.

Well, the HRAP has a Sanwa stick and the T5 Hori has a Hori stick.

    http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...DIFFERENCE.jpg

If you own a T5 Hori, or played on it for a while, you'll start to notice a difference.

Is there a way to buy Special Edition HRAP now. There are no wed site that can help to order the stick

  23. #23
^ The Special Addition and Edition HRAPs were only available to order from Hori's site and was for Japanese only. They sold out real quick when released in March of this year, anyway it's practically impossible now to get either.
