John, do you know an estimated time as to when we can expect Guilty Gear to end on Monday? I should have Monday off but I will probably have to work on Tuesday. I can probably request the day off but I will try not to if I can avoid it. I just want to make sure that I will have enough time to get back to my apartment in Minakami that night so that I can work Tuesday. Do you know if the shinkansen stops running after a certain time? As long as the trains run late it shouldn’t be a problem. Thanks for posting the schedule.

This is the last train on a regular Monday night in June. You would just have to take the 9:19 PM train from Ariake (so basically head towards the station around 9PM) and you’d arrive in Minakami for the last train at 12:05 AM. Cost one-way is 5,740 yen.

Ekitan.com only goes two months in advance, so when June hits you’ll be able to double-check the schedule for the exact date on Monday, August 13th (schedule might be slightly different since it’s a holiday).

SBO is usually over by around 6PM every day, so you will have more than enough time to get home after Guilty Gear.

thanks alot poonage, I should have no problem going then as long as I figure out what team I will be on and we qualify

#6

Here’s some info about the last chance qualifier held on the morning of SBO.

There is no pre-registration needed to enter the last chance qualifier. You can show up and sign up right there.

This year there is a change in that there are 2 chances allowed for foreigners. One is a last chance qualifier that only foreigners are allowed to enter. It does have a max cap however. If more teams than the cap want to enter, there will be a lottery to decide who gets to particpate. (more info on lottery below)

Then there is the last chance qualifier that is open to everyone, foreigners and Japanese alike. The cap for this is a lot bigger but again, a lottery will be used if necessary.

To participate in the lottery, you must buy the SBO guide booklet. The cost is about $10. So you can say that the entry fee for last chance qualifier is $10.

You may enter the last chance qualifier for the foreigners and if you do not qualify, you may try again in the open last chance.

Good luck to anyone that plans on participating.
