I know it’s early but I think it’s time that everyone should talk about their favorite teams, games, etc. I’ll do what to post who’s hot & who’s not(little help will be needed)

Out with the old,in with the new

Notre Dame
OUT:Charlie Weis’ “traditional” pro style offense & the 4-3 defense
IN:Brian Kelly’s version of the spread offense & the 3-4 defense

Texas
OUT:The spread offense that suited Colt McCoy
IN:The Longhorns version of the pro style suited for Garrett Gilbert

Georgia
OUT:The 4-3 defense that was HORRENDOUS,they barely got the 'Dawgs into the bowl & has put Mark Richt on
a hotter seat
IN:A 3-4 scheme that will be implemented by new coordinator Todd Grantham

Houston
OUT: A 4-3 defense that sucked at stopping the run
IN:A 3-4 defense from new coordinator Brian Stewart, who was the Cowboys DC until he let his mouth write a check he couldn’t
cash with Wade Phillips

Louisana Tech
OUT:The pro style offense ran by Derrick Dooley
IN:The Run & Shoot spread that will be ran by Sonny Dykes

This is way too early and will get lost in the mix

Can’t wait for Phil Steele’s CFB mag to come out in a few days though

#3

I heard it’s pretty good.I’ll be getting it myself.Sporting News magazine is always a ood source also.

#4

Hey that sounds exciting, what teams do you think will make the playoffs this year in college football?

#5

Someone told me that Joe Montana’s son is going to UW.

I did not know that.

We have Jake this year, and Joe’s son the following year.

THE NEW ERA IS UPON US.

GGPO Pac-10!

#6

Maybe this isn’t early with the imminent demise of the Big 12. Shit’s gonna get wacky if we really are heading towards four 16-team super conferences. Glad the new Pac-16 will finally be getting a championship game.

#7

You know when I originally posted GGPO Pac-10 I was saying that because UW will be the new beast. Now my GGPO Pac-10 actually means GGPO Pac-10 because of Pac-16.

I CAN PREDICT THE FUTURE!

Article explaining how the Big XII’s demise is their own fault when they rejected a proposal for a plus-one. Interesting stuff.

#9

I know you’re a Washington fan, but do you really think the Huskies can do more than a 7-5 season this year?

As for the face of NCAA football changing, I kinda like it. Word has it the new pac-16 would forgo a conference championship game and just ask for two BCS bids

#10

No I think they can do a 12-0 season. :coffee:

#11

Let’s check back after you go through that awesome non-conference slate against BYU and Nebraska

#12

Nebraska… the soon to be newest member of the Big Ten… Wow… that still strikes me as odd to say. Of course if / when the Pac 10 officially becomes the Pac-16 or whatever they end up renaming their no longer entirely Pacific (or even close…) Conference, how long will it take the Big Ten to scoop up Missouri, Notre Dame (because they’ll finally have no other choice) and then two schools east of Penn State (probably Rutgers and probably Pitt since they’re all AAU members) and they become the New Big (we’re not even close to) Ten and then how long does it take before the SEC swallows up what’s left of the Big East and poaches what little football talent they can whomp on out of the ACC? There are so many dominos that are yet to fall…

I have to be honest, this is the most entertaining off season of College Football EVER!!!

By the way M go Blue, if Rich Rod doesn’t win 8 games this year, fire his ass and beg Lloyd Carr to come back.

#13

The new Pac-10 should just be called “west coast.” Then the SEC, Big East, and ACC can fight each other until there only 1 reminding and call themselves “east coast.” Then we can have west coast vs east coast like in the 90’s!

Rap, college football, and SF!

I call that the trifecta!

#14

IDK how people can take College Football seriously anymore, they shit is a parody of itself.

#15

But a Pac-10 which has as many as 4 Texas Schools is not West Coast. A Pac-10 with Colorado (now confirmed) and Arizona & Zona State shouldn’t be either but there’s more leeway at least for the Zona schools… the Pac 10 should not have a school in a state that touches the Gulf of Mexico and therefore the ATLANTIC OCEAN

My rule for Jim Delaney (Comissioner for the Big 10), if you want to add a school and they don’t grow some level of corn or wheat there… it doesn’t count. Hence, Nebraska is fine. Missouri would be okay. Notre Dame is fine (and encouraged!). Pitt is cutting it close but still in Pennsylvania…

#16

The NFL isn’t any better. IMO. :coffee:

Edit: USC got the hammer. Dayum: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news;_ylt=Avhd6ua0drt4t7pWytsuoFEcvrYF?slug=ys-uscpenalties061010

Holy shit @ all these conference realignments. I have a feeling that, in the SEC, we’re going to be taking in at least one school from OK, and one from TX - if not both “big” schools in each state.

I’d love to add OSU, OU, TX and aTm to the SEC West.

#18

Just found out on ESPN.com that Boise St. will be leaving the WAC to join the Mountain West.BSU,TCU,Utah & BYU oh yeah the rivalries in that conference are going to be solid.Everybody is pissed at Nebraska leaving is because the Huskers have basically been the backbone that has held that conference together for years. If anybody that should’ve left was Missouri. To my understanding, the Big 10 has had an eye on Missouri for years, plus Missouri specifically the St.Louis area has a nice viewing revenue that they both can cash in on.

Oh let’s forget that Texas A&M wants to SEC.Bless their heart & buy them something for Christmas because that move will be dumb on their part

#19

That’s true. Also Steve McNair Jr.will make his college debut as a WR for Southern Mississippi this season.Brett Favre’s nephew will be playing for Mississippi St.next year

#20

Personally I’m pulling for “Western Conference” for the new Pac-X heh.

Yeah, Boise to the Mountain West. The MW now has 100% of the top tier non-BCS teams, including Boise, BYU, Utah, and TCU. There are always other good non-BCS schools whether it be your Fresnos or your Hawaiis or your Houstons, but those 4 are pretty much always among the top tier and have recently or will be in national championship consideration. For the MW now to not be a major conference would be even more of a joke than it’s been in the past. Especially if they do end up getting Kansas and K-State.

And after conference consolidation, there may only be 5 other big conferences left anyway. Western, Big Ten, SEC, and ACC/Big East (I figure one of these might die). Imo you’d have to put the Mountain West in there. In any case the BCS is clearly gonna have to re-do its rules.
