How does this in any way disprove the assertion that a good number of today’s best ST players don’t even play the arcade version of the game? For one thing, Japan has an entirely different arcade culture than that of America, so Japan is irrelevant to this discussion. For another, again–and I want you to provide better information, since you seem to be convinced that I’m utterly wrong–I’m willing to bet that a significant portion of our top ST players play almost exclusively on console. I haven’t walked into an arcade and seen a cluster of people around an ST machine in many years, easily before the current generation of top players rose into prominence. You might not fit into this category, but it is ridiculous enough for you to assume that you’re representative of the community as a whole.
