Arcade Legends RANKING BATTLES Season 2 *SFIV, MvC2, T6, BB, GGAC* Cincinnati, OH

#1

Arcade Legends in Fairfield, OH is proud to announce SEASON 2 of the Ranking Battles. Come prove yourself amongst players in the local scene and spend some quality time with our 50+ arcade and pinball machines all set on free play.

Season 2 will be slightly different than season 1. First, the season will last 4 months. Second, there will only be 2 weeks of ranbats per month. Third, the prize values have been raised to reflect the extra week. Since there isn’t really anything obvious to go along with Tekken 6, it will be played on the same day as BB and GGAC but in the evening. I know a few T6 players are into BB so they can come early and enter that if they wish.

The evenings with T6 will be open for whomever wants to run a side tourney alongside T6. PM me or post it up and we’ll hammer out the details.

Each night after the SFIV and Marvel ranbats, we will have another Street Fighter related tourney or two. I’ll post those in the first post below.

Now the details:

Jesse this season of Ranbats has the US release of TvC happening during the span of time this is held in. I request an after ranbat tournament, perhaps?

#4

You know Im coming! Il be running KI2 side tournaments for now on. Since it obviously shows we have some low key KI2 players after what I saw yesterday.

Ill be there for T6 / BB / SF4!

#5

what time do you open up on for thursday night matches.
Thursday is my day off and may need to become my AL day

#6

We open at 3pm. People usually start showing up around 5-6 and stay until we close at midnight.

#7

Yo can I bring through a Dreamcast for marvel vs capcom 2 also? I’ll supply 2 sticks for it. Ps3 and 360 are buggy.

#8

I will enter a Fists of Fire tournament. Just wish I had a way to practice before then.

I hope to see a good turnout in the ultimate casual game, MAHVEL.

#9

You can practice at AL if you can make it to Thursdays. We had it set up last week and will again this Thursday.

That would be great Quan. The main reason I didn’t have it for Dreamcast is that I know that hardly anyone has Dreamcast fight sticks. If you have two you are willing to let everyone use then I’m all for it.

#10

Ok now I just will have to find a way down there and come up with some money.

#11

Since you are bringing all those goodies, I’ll give you half price admission if you can make it. If you can’t make it, we will stick with arcade unless both players are ok with the ps3 version

The side tourney for 11-28-09 will indeed be JACKIE CHAN: FISTS OF FIRE. It will start around 6pm. $2 entry. If anyone else wants to hold a side tourney alongside JC:FOF, PM me or post it up on the boards

#12

I’ll try my best to be there for T6 and to help run it as well.

I mean c’mon… a choice of 4 energy drinks, reason enough for me.

pP

#13

U best know I’ll be all about some T6 Ranbats…unless work or Emily have me locked down.

#14

Jesse: Can you edit this ‘* Best 3 out of 5 rounds, best 2 out of 3 matches. Then Loser & winner finals will be best 3 out of 5 matches. Grand Finals will be best 5 out of 7.’ to Grand Finals are best 4 out of 7.

My initial mistake. Sorry!

pP

#15

Done. Thanks Phil

#16

The prizes are very good, Jesse. People are gonna love those soundtracks. I know I do!

#17

I think Mario said they are shooting for 1/30 for the next Naptown and Josh Queen just announced that the next Them vs Us is on 12/19…

I dunno how this is going to affect ranbat turnouts and stuff, though. Just something that just crossed my mind.

#18

We could make some adjustments if necessary. I could move the 12/19 ranbat to 12/12. I suppose the 1/30 ranbat could go to 2/6 when they decide on a firm date. How does that sound?

#19

So guys, I’m interested in coming to this, for SF4 most of all… hopefully making it to the future ranbats as well, but I’ve got a bit of a problem, as I am an XBOX player, and the tournament is being held on PS3… I have one question, I want to see how accepting of the idea other people are, and the organizer.

I am a pad player… however, I do own a new and great condition TE stick. If I brought both of these things… would people be willing to use my stick against me on my Xbox? That’s the only way I’m going to really be able to do well here, and exhibit what I know…

#20

I can host a Third Strike tourney on the 28th. I can bring a console but I’d really prefer we had at least 2 setups; could anyone else bring one; and could we use some of the arcade’s TVs?

To anybody who’s interested, how much would you want to put in the pot?
