It’s finally time for RANBATS 2.0!

Starting Sunday August 30th, we’ll be holding the Ranking Battles every other Sunday to give everyone a chance to show where they rank in Arizona!

The Ranbats will all be held in one location, to make it a lot easier to show up. This will take place at University of Advancing Technology, at 2625 W. Baseline Rd., Tempe, AZ 85283. The room will be posted at the entrance to the main building, and we will have it posted here as well as the time comes closer. (This is due to availability) The room will comfortably hold 50-60 people, so bring your friends, have them tell their friends, and let’s have a HUGE showing for both of the games running this season!

The scoring will be familiar to some of you, following a system that rewards you for your placement in each tournament, and encourages each and every person to show up to every tournament! The dedicated to improvement will go a long way in this set!

Each tournament will give out points to everyone. 6 for 1st place, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, and 2 for 4th. Everyone else will be given 1 point just for entering. This will give you a reason to show up to each and every tournament, and continue improving while getting plenty of tournament experience.

The seeding for initial week will be based on the point values from the previous season, giving placement in the brackets to the top 4 point leaders. (If anyone from the top 4 is missing, it will go in order from the previous results) After that week, seeding will be done based on overall season performance. (There will be NO favorites seeding. IE: Danimitsu places 5th first week, the next tourney he will NOT be granted seeding placement based on being a favorite) Everyone will be forced to earn their spots straight through.

The tournaments will be double elimination, best 2 of 3 for each set. The losers finals, winners finals, and grand finals will all be 3 of 5.

Entry fee will be $5.00 per tournament, $4.00 will be placed into the pot for the prizes for that tournament, $1.00 will be placed into the pot for the overall point winners at the end of the season.

The pots will be split 65%/25%/10% for 1st 2nd and 3rd respectively.

There will be two games this time, Street Fighter IV, and BlazBlue. Street Fighter IV will start at 2:30 PM, with casuals starting around noon time. Blazblue will start 30 minutes after SFIV ends, to allow those who play both games to separate their play.

If there are any questions, PM me here. I’m always more than happy to answer questions, and help people out.

Remember to tell EVERYONE you know that would be interested in playing, and even random people you bump into that mention they play fighting games!
