[Aug 25, 2012] Las Cruces, New Mexico Gaming Convention (Las Cruces, NM)

The Second Annual gaming convention will take place in Spring 2012!
The location will be Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the Ramada Inn convention hall!
Entry will be $35 pre-registration and $40 at the door for both days.
(Top 8 matches will be held on the second day, Sunday November 20th.)
These games, to name a few, will be played in CASH tournaments!
Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Super Street Fighter IV: AE
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
Street Fighter X Tekken
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Mortal Kombat 9

The cash prizes will be the entire pot of who plays!
In addition, several tournaments of the SAME game will be running throughout the day!
To enter each tournament, it will cost $5. So, if 20 people play in a tourney in which there is no additional sponsor prize, $100 will be divided amongst Top 3.
Other non-fighting games will also be featured, like MW3, Black Ops, GOW3, and Halo.
We will also have a stream set up!
The Ramada in will also be offering rooms at a discount price!

Now featuring special guest Awele Makayla, also known as Rose from the Legend of Dragoon!

A few more important announcements:
There will also be a cash Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering tournaments. Both will be double elimination and judged by sanctioned judges.
We’re also currently working on a sponser for PCs so hopefully we can add games like League of Legends, Starcraft, and maybe even Team Fortress 2.
Lastly, we’re proud to announce Cherry Fusion of El Paso, TX as our console provider!

I’m cool pre-registering for both days now, but where do we register for the games? Or are you guys trying to do the tournament brackets on the spot?

Also, I would like to see the rules for SSF4:AE and UMvC3. Want to make sure there’s no “infinite time” shenanigans going on.

All rules will be standard. However, due to major venue problems, we’ve had to move the convention to Spring 2012.
And by standard I mean:
SSF4:AE will be
Matches will be best two out of 3
Time: 99
Rounds: Best to 3(first to two)
Stage: Training Stage
Open character select

Time: 99
Damage: Normal
Stage: Danger Room
Open Character Select

Mortal Kombat 9:
Time: 99
Damage: Normal
Stage: No Kratos stage
No DLC Characters or console specific characters.

All games will follow EVO rule standards when it comes to disqualifications.
Blind character picks will be allowed upon request, to prevent counter picking.

Oh and the brackets will be made on the spot

Glad to hear it will be following EVO tournament standards. That’s a huge bummer about the move to Spring though. :frowning: Was getting hype.

Official website is back up and running! Check here for updates!
(also sorry about the grammar, fixing it soon)

I thought typical tournament rules for UMvC3 made it so that the stage was just random.

Only 2 Weeks away!
