Australian SBO5 Qualifiers, Sydney: May 5th, 2007 (T5DR/3S/VF5)

#1

Posting this on SRK so that any local players who don’t get the news locally or anyone keen to travel here from abroad finds out about it. This event is open to anyone. Like in Japan anyone can enter and anyone can win. Although I am quite sure that Aus fighting game community will be represented to it fullest potential in all games and that no outsiders will win even if they do come here.

Games:

  1. Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection (PS3)
  2. Street Fighter III 3rd Strike (Arcade)
  3. Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3)

LOCATION 1: VF5 & Tekken 5 DR
’Gallery Function Centre’
University of Technology, Sydney

To get to the Gallery Function Centre, you will need to enter the foyer of the UTS Tower (Building 1) and take the lift up to Level 6. Then just follow the signs to find the Gallery. For those unfamiliar with the UTS City Campus, the Tower is located very close to Central Train Station in the city. Maps are viewable here (City Map) and here! (UTS City Campus Map) (The building and access points are marked within the red boxes)

VF5 & T5 DR Date/Schedule:
The event will run on Saturday the 5th of May, 2007! (1 day only!) Schedule is as follows:

10:00am - Doors open/Registration

1:30pm - Brackets announced
2:00pm - Both tournaments commence

7:00pm - T5 DR top 4 teams
11:00pm - Venue closes

VF5 & Tekken 5 DR Venue Entry/Cost:
There will be a $10 venue fee for EVERYONE entering the venue. This is to cover expenses etc that are brought about in securing this venue, equipment and setting it up. The cost to enter BOTH tournaments is $15 per person! All tournament entry fee money from each game will go the winning teams to assist them financially when they go to Japan!

Casuals/BYOC:
Like with OHN5, there will be a casual/BYOC section allocated for everyone to use. For the moment we have not determined how many TV’s we will have set up for casual use however we encourage everyone out there (especially those in the Tekken and VF communities) to bring as many TV’s/console’s/arcade stick’s etc as they can.

LOCATION 2: SF3 3rd Strike
"Good Games"
Level 1, 857 George St
Sydney NSW 2000
Ph: 92811760

If you having difficulties and/or are running late call George on 0433 113 002. As for parking, Jack’s advice would be to park at Broadway Shopping Centre as it is **FREE **for the first 3 hours. Only one month to go. Rumors abound of an all-star team featuring PaulT (GO), Ack (UR) and Hong (DU) for 3S… time will tell.

Only 3 more days to go. For any locals attending just an update, 3S has been moved to GGS Game Centre due to some last minute issues but no matter… it is only 5 mins walk down the road from UTS. Check out THIS THREAD on ozhadou for full details.
