I am exceptionally excited to be running this tournament, the turnout
last time packed out the place almost completely, and the tournament
was run very well. The venue is an arcade with a large area for tournament
play. We will be having friendly matches outside the play area as well, food
will be served and there are various fast food locations within walking distance.

Registration from 12:00pm-1:00pm. Tournaments to begin at 1:00pm.

The Venue fee-10$
Singles-5$
Doubles-5$ each (Starting first)

Tv’s, Wii’s w/Brawl, Gamecube’s w/Melee, PS2’s w/Street Fighter will get you 5$ off your venue fee

I wasn’t aware until very recently that I should have posted this up quite a while ago since I usually do so on smashboards exclusively, but if I ever host anything like this again I’ll be sure to do so now that I know better. Anybody that wants to come to this, remember registration by 1:00pm, we will probably be running the 3rd Strike + Melee tournaments first!!!

#3

Um yeah, doing this the day before hand pretty much guarantees most people not coming. I love CFN tournaments, and I would have gone to this had it not been posted say, 12 hours before it actually starts.

:stuck_out_tongue:

#4

Sorry man…this is my first time hosting a tournament like this, and had I known to post here I would have done so 2 and a half weeks ago like I did on smashboards. If anything, let this be a reassurance to 3s players that Castle Fight Night is back and the next one will be posted up in due time. : )

#5

What’s John been up to? Did he pass the torch to you or are you just starting this on your own with the old CFN name? I also love going to CFN and would have gone this time too, but 12 hours before it starts? Cmon…

#6

what.

Way to drop the ball on the date thing. No reason to bother since no one out of town will show up.

#7

We had thought of running a tournament and Castle Fight Night hadn’t been run since April. Again I apologize because I had been asking around for the best place to post for 3rd Strike, but nobody gave me any answers until last minute. I realize there is barely a reason to post this one here, just letting you guys know that since April there hasn’t been a fight night and as of today, they are back. : )

Sorry if you guys can’t make it, obviously because this was posted very late and for no other reason, but I’ll post asap when I learn of the next fight night date. So again, this is more of an informational post I suppose, but it will be happening today for anybody nearby that can make it.

#8

i never saw you ask in smashboards :-\

mustve miss the post i guess

anyways there were only (literally) 4 players for 3s

which rly got me sad…i was all hyped up for a tournament and then find out that only 4 ppl joined

#9

My bad man… it was my fault that I didn’t know ahead of time about Shoryuken…but now that we know you can expect a turnout even more ridiculous than we just had in terms of overall people, because the next Fight Night has already been scheduled for September 13th. And the most important thing this time around will be 3s players, because I am ashamed of the turnout as well and its nobody’s fault but mine for it not having been posted. I’d like to try getting into 3s myself, maybe next time you can destroy me for a while so I can begin to learn the game mechanics. lol

#10

I don’t mean to come off as an ass, but I doubt any 3s players are going to show up anyway unless John is running this again.

#11

Okay so I understand your concern, and I don’t blame you for your criticism due to this being my first big tournament. Though I lacked the info to contact the 3rd Strike community, this is no longer the case. I can guarantee you that if given enough notice, people will show up to this event. The fact that I am not known by the 3rd Strike community means that I’m depending a lot more on you guys to spread the word that we will have monthly tournaments. John hasn’t contacted the owner of Castle Golf since April so thats why we had taken it into our own hands to not wait for tournaments, but to run them ourselves.

#12

If you are gonna run your smash tournament then do so but don’t use the Castle Fight Night name cause John “Icy Cool” runs them and It’s more then Just smash and 3s.

#13

Yeah, when John does it he has a lot more than two games but the focus is on 3s. No 3s player is going to want to go to a “Smash tournament with 3s” because our pride gets in the way

I think you should run a Smash only tournament, you guys have a fairly large community and can pull in some solid numbers with Smash alone. I’m going to let this thread go because the tournament is over, but that’s my advice, take it or leave it. You can PM me too if you feel the need.
