Season 2 - initial thoughts - (cc)b+HP, into legs, into VT…

  • CC b.HP, EXLL, VT, VS, x3 stomps, falling HP, etc.
  • CC b.HP, HKLL, VT, b+HK, s.HP, CA

Experiment more with this. I bet you there is something there.

What nerfs are causing the [cr] lp, lk, mk, hp.fireball blockstring to have such an awkward timing now? It’s incredibly annoying to do this now…

cr.lp -> l.legs -> cr.lp -> l.sbk also doesn’t work now :frowning:

You will either have to grind out st.LP xx lk.SBK as a combo ender (good luck) or do the good old cr.lp xx st.MP xx cr.MK xx lk.SBK (or mk.SBK). I am grateful the latter still works. Or alternatively you can spend meter for ex legs as a combo ender. Her damage output took a nosedive and she is more like her SF4 self now.

Lol, the difficulty stars for the instant stomp combos in v-trigger caught me off guard. Yeah those are pretty hard to do. I’ll probably opt for the F+HK after CC st. HK combos more often. Would rather have a decent amount of damage done and oki than miss the optimal combo and be left in the air with half the potential damage left on the table.

lmao. Yeah man that combo is so hard. I still haven’t found a more optimal combo than that one. It feels bad missing out on ~50 extra free damage, but I’d rather take consistency over missing out on potentially 300+ damage + oki.

It’s interesting that st. HK has so much juggle potential. No other grounded heavy normal can actually go back into a medium AFAIK.

they force us to play more “brain”, not spamming move like this in SS1
about block string nerf, no problem, we just have to mix these moves with a step forward or change it to another poke with further range. On the other hand, delay between string is a need because of V-reversal or Invicible Reversal are always there, so we should forget the old string, just learn the new Chunli

Cr.lk, cr.lp, st.lk is a good block string for s2 chun. Can confirm to knockdown, super, vtc, starts off of a 3f move and has 2 lows.

Cr.lp, s.mp still works just leave out the cr.mk after. On hit cr.mk still connects, so either confirm off the first two hits or frame trap with the cr.mk to catch them mashing.

Cr.lk, cr.lp, st.lk will work if they’re standing

There’s some variation from her season 1 stuff but chun’s still got block strings

That first string never worked on standing opponents. Crouching opponents get a bigger hurtbox.

The second strings are a nerf yeah (cause they reduced the range on most of her normals, including st.lp), but they still work on crouching opponents. Which is what defending opponents are 99% of the time.
