Competitive Pokemon Team Fighter

Pokemon Arena (Alpha) Matches - YouTube

It’s everything you love (maybe hate, even) about pokemon but the battles are played out like a fighting game.
In terms of gameplay, you’ve got on-hit-cancels, dashes, dash cancelling, guard, guard break, pushblock (its a little more complex than that) grabs and teching, meter and supers, and tag in/out combos that are familiar to fighting games.
Weather, hazards, status effects, type advantages (very minimal effects, 10% dmg up/5% dmg down) teambuilding, and multiple movesets (4 per character) are mechanics familiar to the pokemon series that are present.
The video above contains a discord link in its description for those who want to alpha test with us.
There are tournaments, and skins are awarded to top placing players.

There’s also a ranking leaderboard that keeps track of wins, losses, and elo.

You can have your profile registered in the server, and make a banner/victory theme for your profile in game.

Hope this is the right amount of information. Looking forward to seeing curious new faces, I think this game has alot for every type of player.

figured I’d follow up with the leaderboard and current confirmed roster. Voting for Season 3’s roster is underway.

Generally, no more than two Pokémon per team should share the same type . This both reduces the amount of common weakness, and allows each Pokémon more opportunities to counter their opponent. Check your team for weaknesses. If half of them have a weakness to one type, then switch out at least one Pokémon.
