# Damage Scaling Issue

I’ve been relatively new to Zangief, but messing around with him I’m not quite sure how this works.

A variation of one of the BnB combos I’ve been using. However it seems the damage scaling is just that coincidental or there’s something wrong.

cr. jab > cr. jab > cr. jab > cr. short xx LP-Greenhand

Combo Damage:…156
Stun…235

cr. jab > cr. jab > cr. short xx LP-Greenhand

Combo Damage:…156
Stun:…210

Why does (1) Additional jab do no extra damage only stun?

Yes, but the math of the damage scaling doesn’t add up is what I’m saying. Glad you could help out on that BLATANTLY OBVIOUS problem.

Damage scaling works like this.

1st hit - 100%
2nd hit - 100%
3rd hit - 80%
4th hit - 70%
5th hit - 60%
6th hit - 50%
7th hit - 40%
8th hit - 30%
9th hit - 20%
10+ hits - 10%

So if we take into account the damage of the attacks in question…

NOTE: these damage stats are from SSF4 but should be close enough to explain things

cr. jab - 30
cr. short - 40
jab GH - 120

In the combo: cr. jab -> cr. jab -> cr. short xx jab GH

cr. jab - 1 x 30 damage = 30
cr. jab - 1 x 30 damage = 30
cr. short - .8 x 40 damage = 32
jab GH - .7 x 120 damage = 84

Total combo Damage: 176

In the Combo: cr. jab -> cr. jab -> cr. jab -> cr. short xx jab GH

cr. jab - 1 x 30 damage = 30
cr. jab - 1 x 30 damage = 30
cr. jab - .8 x 30 damage = 24
cr. short - .7 x 40 damage = 28
jab GH - .6 x 120 damage = 72

**Total Combo Damage: 184 **

As you can see, it only does slightly more damage. NOW!!!, keep in mind they nerfed the damage of cr. short, not sure by how much, maybe to 30. But as you can see is. Even though its more hits, jab GH easily does the most damage. So the more hits you add on. the less that GH is going to do, and since its your big damage in that combo, you want as little hits as possible.

Later, when i get a chance to, ill actually go in game and find the exact numbers for you to make sure its all perfect.

i will also figure out stun values as well. Just give me a few hours.

The only thing good the cr. jab x 3 > jab GH is to fake out your opponent, most aren’t expecting a cr. short xx jab GH.
