De-interlaced/Anti-aliasing

#1

De-interlaced:
After loading the GD-ROM keep pressing the Start button + L button until the Capcom logo appears on the screen.

Low-resolution/anti-aliasing:
After loading the GD-ROM keep pressing the Start button + Y button until the Capcom logo appears on the screen.

Can somebody please tell me the point of these?

On a related note, these codes are always posted based on a dc pad, what is the correlation on a stick (abc, xyz) does start+L = start + Z or what?
edit: and to the guy above, they are different video modes, one makes it less ‘glossy / blurry’ and more ‘pixelated / sharp’.

I can barely even tell the difference.

Oh well. Thanks.
