I’m going to try out the ultra edition el fuerte, but I’m most likely going to Elena for USF4. I played some more 3rd strike and I really like her capoeria move set. If I ever learned Lucha Libra I would try to combine it with capoeria. (I played multiple characters in AE (Juri, Hakan, Yang), but always came back to El Fuerte to give people a challenge or when I got mad at them for trolling me.) Too bad R. Mika isn’t in this game. : (

#6408

Man what happened to this forum? I feel like the fuerte threads are kinda dead now a days

Sorry but the layout is just atrocious.

That said. once ultra comes out I’ll be remaking my tutorial videos and updating things in earnest

Hey guys, just started playing El Fuerte again and I was wondering if anyone could critique some of my recent play. I can point out a lot of problems but I feel you guys will see more, plus it’ll be good to get analysis from different viewpoints.

I start my matches at http://www.twitch.tv/zombiebrian/b/451303988?t=04h36m45s and stop playing Fuerte shortly after the 06h37m31s mark. Hope you guys enjoy!

I felt I made a hell of a lot of mistakes and have huge holes in my game along with bad habits such as:

  • Focusing way too much, I eat so much damage due to this
  • Relying on EX Run and Guac to get out instead of just blocking
  • Not AA’ing everything and when I do, only using Cr.HP when I could also Guac
  • Not max punishing my opponent
  • Not using Safe Jump setups
  • Not hitting more than 3 RSF into slide consistently (I feel I need to hit four or more consistently)
  • Being repetitive in my attack
  • Doing full screen runs into slides or splashes which are easily punishable
  • Doing inputs too fast, therefore messing up my Run Stop pressure
  • Not looking into matchup specific things which costs me big time
  • Not landing an Ultra every round
  • Not punishing my opponent for jumping out of Oki etc.
  • Getting away with gimmicky things due to opponents lack of knowledge in the Fuerte matchup

There’s more of course but I’ll leave it at that for now.

Anyway I’ll be playing him on stream tomorrow too starting from 5pm UK time hopefully. Then I’ll be using him and Abel after a ft7 against a Dudley player (I’ll be using Abel in the ft7 as he’s my main) so I can get some practice in! Hope you guys get to see the matches and if not, I’ll link them here anyway if that’s alright of course!

So… this: http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/sep/02/el-fuertes-ultra-street-fighter-4-quesadilla-bomb-change-demonstrated-modded-ssf4-ae-v2012-footage-shows-mp-mk-links-and-combos/

Make cr.Fierce cancelable and a buff vitality to 950 and we call it a day?

#6416

Focus is something tricky for me so I wont comment on that.

Yeah. learn to block.

You can AA with Run back Tortilla as well. Air Throws, air lights.

Max punishing is not neccessary. Sometimes giving up damage for position is important.

Consistent RSF is fine at 3 -> slide if you ask me. what matters is you get what you can with minimal risk to you.

  • Being repetitive in my attack: If they keep falling for it, keep doing it.

  • Doing full screen runs into slides or splashes which are easily punishable: I’m guilty of this myself. beware of auto pilot.

  • Doing inputs too fast, therefore messing up my Run Stop pressure: remind yourself you have time and slow down.

  • Not looking into matchup specific things which costs me big time: obvious.

  • Not landing an Ultra every round: I think this is a bad thought process. you don’t HAVE to land ultra every round. That’s like throwing a haymaker when a jab will put them away. Set up the ultra, punish with an ultra, but don’t be desperate to land it every time.

  • Not punishing my opponent for jumping out of Oki etc: that’s just setup. Again. think of positioning.

  • Getting away with gimmicky things due to opponents lack of knowledge in the Fuerte matchup: Gimmicks is part of the game. if you can use gimmicks because they don’t know, and it leads you to concealing your real play and still letting you RSF and win, then do it. If they dont know the tricks from the real stuff, punish their lack of knowledge quickly before they catch on and make it harder for you to win.

#6417

Thanks for the reply, it’s really appreciated.

I’m doing a lot better now that I’m getting more experience with the character along with just being a general nuisance in my play. I tend to just get the lead and make them come to me a lot of the time.

Anything that I fall for or haven’t seen before I recreate in training mode and see what I can do about it which means when it comes to the rematch, I usually do a LOT better.

#6418

any of you amigos going to TFC?

also I hate Rose, why does she exist? fighting her is a nightmare

#6419

Mr. Shadow Ace, we made a facebook group called “El Fuerte Players”. You should join.

Also, the rose match up is just silly. If you can’t get a knockdown in the first 10 seconds of the match it’s basically over.

#6420

Took some pics with Wrestling legend hacksaw Jim Duggan. cosplaying Fuerte’s so much fun XD
