[Feb 18, 2012] LanDiego: Ring in the New Year (San Diego, CA)

I’m from LanDiego. If you haven’t heard of us, we’re a local group that throws regular LAN parties, and we’ve been around since late 2010.
It’s a good friendly, light-hearted atmosphere for gamers to get hang out with each other and play games in the same room.
We’ve got another LAN party coming up on February 18th (that’s a Saturday), and it goes from 2pm till whenever people go home. Tickets are $10 online (or $15 at the door). The tickets get you in, admitted to our tourneys (if you wish) and food/drinks. We’re not making money off of this, it all goes to rent/food/prize pool.
It is a Bring-your-own PC event (We have power, networking, tables and chairs), but we provide consoles (and games) for anyone to play on, whether you bring your PC or not.
There are 2 tourneys this month, on PC we have Starcraft 2. The SDSU CSL team has a strong showing, and we had ThisIsJimmy (from Checksix) show up and win last event (And somebody even casted replays of it! Check out Kakaru’s casts if you’re interested)
For consoles, we’re doing Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
On both games, first place prize is $80.
But this is not a 1-dimensional event, it’s not just about tourneys. So if you’re not a competitive player, don’t fret. We definitely encourage a lot of casual freeplay on both console and PC.
For more information like “where the heck is this happening?” or “what games do you have on console?” check the thread on our website: http://landiego.com/index.php?topic=582.0
