I’ve heard a few references to fighting games in songs, and I was wondering if any of you knew anymore. The one’s I’ve heard are:

The Night is Mine by Natas
" You wanna die? I gotcha/ I’ll chop ya like Baraka"

Triumph by the Wu-Tang Clan
"Tunes spit the shitty Mortal Kombat sound"

Afro Puffs by The Lady of Rage
"I’m hittin’ emcees like ‘horyuken’"
NOTE: She in fact mispronounced “shoryuken” in the song.

Those were the Days by Lady Sovereign
"We played the first Mortal Kombat on the SEGA"

Sonic Boom by The Flatlinerz
This just uses a a sample of Guile saying “Sonic Boom”

Im pretty sure Biggie Smalls mentioned Street Fighter 2 in one of his songs just cant think of it right now. Also mentioned the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.

There are too many to fit here, because the current generation of artists were raised on this stuff and most of them spit what they know.

So let’s save ourselves the trouble.
