GG: x2 and GG: xx reloaded

#1

Are they the same or XX reloaded have more characters and options?

You could’ve done a bit more research on this, or even asked gamefaqs.

We even have a Guilty Gear Slash topic (which is the newest version of Guilty Gear). Came out not to long ago (April 11th).

people never get the name of the game right…

I’ll be nice and answer the question straight out.

Guilty Gear X2 and Reload are not the same game. Reload is the follow up to X2. The family tree goes something like the following:

Guilty Gear
Guilty Gear 2 (?)
Guilty Gear X
Guilty Gear X2
Guilty Gear X2 #Reload
Guilty Gear Isuka
Guilty Gear X2 #Slash

Each version they try to make the characters more balanced, and usually add in 1 or 2 new characters. I started at X2. Reload made one of the special characters Tournament legal. Isuka is garbage, as every one will agree, and Slash is the newest, with 1 character pulled from Isuka, and another new one added in.

X2 is available for the PS2 in the US, but is hard to find. Reload is available for the Xbox in the US (don’t know availability). Isuka is available for the PS2, and is everywhere. Slash is recently available for the PS2, import only.

isuka doesn’t count

You’re still wrong.

Guilty Gear (PSX)
Guilty Gear X (Naomi / Dreamcast / USA PS2 / PC)
Guilty Gear X+ (JPN PS2)
Guilty Gear X 1.5 (Atomiswave)
Guilty Gear XX (Naomi / PS2)
Guilty Gear XX#Reload ver.Red (Naomi)
Guilty Gear XX#Reload ver.Blue (Naomi / PS2 / Xbox / PC)
Guilty Gear XX Slash (Naomi / JPN PS2)

I’m not going to bother listing the handheld GGs or Isuka either. :razzy:

Not exactly. Guilty Gear was actually a different game from GGX and GGXX different storyline etc.

GGX was also different from GGXX not only in tweakes, but in large parts of the gameplay mechanics and also in storyline.

To put it simple: Guilty Gear is a game Guilty Gear X is a game and Guilty Gear XX , the words behind those names are tweaks so ggx+ is a tweak of X and #Reload is a tweak of XX, these games mostly do share the same game mechanics and storyline.
