Hammer Frenzy Cancel

#1

Has anyone had this happen to them before? Hugo does SA3 on wake up.
Sometimes I can block his attack & punish
but he can also hold his running stance.
One time, I was ready for cr.fierce but I got hit with a 360.

How can you tell when you’re able to punish?

#2

parry forward, back, forward and then block or throw. I think that’s what I did and it worked. I could be wrong. Maybe it’s forward, forward, forward… Either way, just do something. Wake-up super if you have to.

#3

Always parry towards urien.

Standard ub parry if urien does toward
Mk to break guard is three parries then throw. First two parrys are fast. Practice. You have dummy recording on oe.

#4

okay thanks I’ve tried duplicating it before. I always get 1 or 2 parries before I get juggled.

#5

Yeah, it’s towards 3 times in quick succession. And Ryan’s right, they are fast but it’s not really that hard…
Came into an odd scenario where I had to parry the step kick first and then the Aegis… That’s some funky timing and trickery right there.

For blocked hammer frenzy… Punish like usual.

For his delayed hammer frenzy can be
tricky. I think it’s matter of guessing when.

#8

Just wait for his running to finish. You can punish. It’s not difficult. Training mode training mode training mode!

#9

oh okay thanks. i’ll check it out in training mode with hugo

#10

when recording hugo, remember to hold downback while running and for a short time afterward so that a mistimed punish won’t hit. sounds obvious but it’s common to overlook this.

#11

he takes like five steps max or something. You can count it easily. Punished it in tourney once without ever practicing it. Still haven’t.
