Warner Bros., the studio behind the Harry Potter film franchise, is pursuing legal action in Switzerland against a company called Magic X, the makers of “Harry Popper” condoms.
According to The Hollywood Reporter (via The Daily Telegraph), Warners finds these condoms in violation of their copyright on the character. Magic X denies their product has anything to do with Potter, despite the fact that the packaging features a condom wearing round glasses and wielding a wand.
THR says that Warners has already won similar suits against Magic X in Germany and Austria. A ruling is expected soon on whether “Harry Popper” will be banned in Switzerland as well.
