I know the difference between hitting high and low (If you hit high and the opponent is crouching your move will whiff and low hitting moves need to be blocked low) but whats the point of mid hitting moves. Just to make things more ambiguous to your opponent?
well you can combo low medium punches and light punches into good stuff, not so much medium low kicks and sweeps
shorts obviously have short range
yup, its just ambiguity.
In Tekken and Soul series, mid moves must be blocked high and they will hit most jumping opponents (“Special Mid” moves can be blocked high or low, can be low parried, and will completely whiff against jumpers.)
In Street Fighter, they merely refer to moves that may be blocked high or low and will not whiff against crouching characters. In SF3, most of them can be parried high or low.
