The first one went so well, we decided to try to do it all over again. This time with a few changes from what we learned during the first!

Cross Critical Combo (SSF4AE, SFXT, SCV, UMvC3)

When: July 20, 2012. Registration will start at 7:00 PM.
SFXT & SCV will begin shortly after 9:00 PM.
SSF4AE & UMvC3 will begin around 11:30 PM. (Or later, if the first half drags on longer than expected)
Cost: $5/person per tournament plus $5 venue fee
Payout: Top 2 (60/40)

All tournaments held during Cross Critical Combo will be held in a double-elimination format. This means that you aren’t eliminated from the competition unless you are defeated twice.

Match Format:
When a match is called, each player will decide which side of the screen they wish to sit on (1P or 2P). A coin flip will be used if a decision can’t be reached. After sides are decided, teams will be selected in a free-for-all style, and then the first game will begin. At the end of the first game, the loser has the option to change sides as well as team members and order, where applicable. The winner, however, has no choice in side and must keep the same team and order for the next game. If the match drags on to a third game, the same rules apply to the loser and winner of the second game.

*Example: Mike and Steve are the current match in Street Fighter X Tekken. In the first game, Mike wins with a team composed of (in order) Kazuya and Nina. Steve will be allowed to choose a completely new team if he desires and may switch sides with Mike. Mike, however, must choose Kazuya and Nina for his team, and he doesn’t have the option of choosing his side for the second game. In the second game, Steve wins with Ryu and Ken. Since Steve won, he now must keep his winning team for the third and final game while Mike has the option of choosing a new team, and may switch sides with Steve. *

Tournament Rules:

[]All tournaments will be 1v1. Team play will not be allowed.

]Players must be present and ready to play when their match is called. If they aren’t present, they will have 2 minutes to show up from the time their match is called. If they fail to show up after the 2 minutes have expired, they forfeit the match and the other player automatically advances without needing to play a make-up match of any kind. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE, AND NEITHER YOUR FRIENDS, TOURNAMENT STAFF NOR SECTION 9 STAFF CAN SAVE YOU.
[]Games may not, for any reason, be paused or otherwise interrupted after they have started. Doing so may result in an automatic forfeiture of the current game for the offending player. This will be determined solely at the discretion of staff overseeing the match.

]Match disruptions, including excessive trash talking, physical violence, unplugging/tampering with equipment, and other such forms of debauchery will not be tolerated and may result in forfeiture, disqualification and/or ejection from the tournament and venue.
[]Initial matches for all tournaments will be best 2/3 games. Winners finals, losers finals and grand finals will be best 3/5 games. For specific game settings and rules, please refer to the individual game rules below.

]Purposefully utilizing glitches, hacks, or exploits that render any game unplayable will result in immediate disqualification and ejection from the tournament and venue. This includes infinite combos. Judgement will come at the discretion of the tournament organizer, tournament staff and/or Section 9 staff overseeing each match.
[]All macros available via in-game control menus are allowed.

]External, hardware-based input assistance is strictly forbidden. This includes turbo/rapid-fire input and controller-programmable macros.
[]ALL wireless controllers are banned. This includes both first party controllers as well as fight sticks. If it’s wireless, you can’t use it.
[
]If you use any kind of random option for character select and win a game, you must choose the random option again for your next game. If this results in a banned character being selected, the match will be restarted until you have a character or team that does not have banned characters. All other game settings chosen prior to the restart shall remain the same.
[]Players are free to bring their own controllers to the tournament, including game pads and arcade sticks. However, controllers brought from home are the responsibility of the players bringing them, and Section 9 Cyber Cafe and tournament staff are not liable for the theft, damage, destruction or loss of personal equipment brought to the tournament.

]Double blind character select will be available, but by request only. If you wish to use it, you must request it prior to your match being called to tournament or Section 9 staff.
[]These rules are not absolute and may be modified or added to prior to the tournament and as the tournament progresses.
