Loops stopping at 11-12 hits

Hello forum,

I’m trying to create an infinite loop with Zero against Sent. The combo is j.L,(air)M,(air)H(2 hits),(air)S. I keep doing it and I’m able to get it 2 times fully, then the next j.L will not hit. Is this a normal mechanic? Or am I doing something wrong?

This is a normal mechanic. MvC3 has a system in place that introduces hitstun decay into combos, so that the longer that they go on, each successive hit produces less hitstun, which in turn makes virtually all loops fall apart after several reps.
