[Mar 16, 2012] Gameware Monthly 5.3 (Baton Rouge, LA)

Gameware Monthly is coming up on March 16th at the new location down a little ways on College Dr. The new location is right where the Blockbuster used to be! This means that there’s extra parking! Vaughn will also be running Pokemon Stadium 2 in addition to the fighters! Stay tuned for more details for the monthly!

**No SF4 this month at Gameware (it’ll be at Little Wars though) in order to give sc5 some exposure. Had to pick and choose and SF4 has had declining numbers. It’ll probably be back on the lineup should sc5 go the same route.

$5 (cash only; built in $1 venue fee for Gameware) for each tournament (SFxT/SC5/UMvC3)

6:30 PM - Registration Opens
7:30 PM - Tournaments Begin/Brackets close

NOTE: We’re going to be stingy about starting on time! Try to get there before games start!

Tournaments (Singles):
Street Fighter x Tekken (360) - $5 double elimination
Soul Calibur 5 -$5 double elimination
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (360) -$5 double elimination

-Winnings are split 60/30/10
-Double Elimination, seeded by location
-ALL matches between players are a set of three games, with the exception of Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals which are 3 out of 5 matches.

-B.Y.O.C. (No controllers will be provided by the tournament organizers) This is important. Make sure you can borrow from someone if you do not have a controller. It helps to keep things flowing smoothly.
-Wireless controllers are prohibited. This is due to syncing up with other systems and potentially pausing the players’ match next to you. This also makes switching controllers much faster. If you have a wireless controller, the battery pack needs to be removed and a wire needs to be used.

Please keep an eye on your breakaway cables! Make sure you remove them from the consoles! Try to have some sort of identification on your controllers/sticks!

-Be punctual. Do not be late for your matches. We will be calling out names, so listen up! If you’re leaving or stepping out for a bit, let us (the tournament organizers) know. Makes things much easier, but don’t disappear for undue lengthy amounts of time. We don’t want to have to DQ anyone, but reserve that right in order to keep the tournament flowing as smoothly as possible.

-Pausing during a match is grounds for a disqualification/loss of that GAME. This is ultimately left up to the other player in order to decide whether or not to continue the match.

In-game specific rules:
-Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals are 3/5 matches.
-3/5 rounds, 2/3 matches (SC5)
-Stage is random select (SC5)
-Mimic characters are banned-Kilik, Edge Master, Elysium (SC5)
-Dampierre banned
-2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches (SFxT/UMvC3)
-No gems (SFxT)
-1v1 player format (SFxT)
-Winner must keep the same team (this means same exact order, characters, and assists), loser may switch (UMvC3)

Requests from the TOs:
If you have a setup that can be used for the tournament, PLEASE let us know. If you have USB hubs that we can use for future team tournaments, let us know about that as well! Shoot me a PM, email, or IM.

A setup consists of a display (lag free monitor–ASUS monitors are winners here) and a console (360 please). We need the monitors over consoles mostly. Any help is greatly appreciated! Remember, this is run by the community for the community. Support your local scene!
