Minnesota: Keep it Classy!

I would assume the blanka alt 3 is banned because of its distracting nature and volcano stage is banned because it’s difficult for colorblind people to see.

Damn, just got back from rosedale gamengo. Lots of marvel heads but no setups for AE or X Tekken. Disappointed to say the least. Was i supposed to bring setups?

It just happened to be one of those strange days where is was mostly marvel. We have AE and SFxT on hand so you dont need to bring a setup…unless you want to.
Yeah, today was one of the first days I can remember where we didn’t have a SF4 setup going. I guess today we had a bunch of people who only play Marvel, and all of the SF players there were multi-game people who were fine playing Marvel instead. Usually there are a few SF-only players there to hold down a setup or two.

Hopefully you’ll stop by again, and if you don’t see a SF setup, just ask. Someone will grab a copy and switch a station out. Heck, if you see me there, I’d be happy to play either SF4 or SFxT with you.
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I’m a SF-only player (that took a year off because of grad school), but I will be coming back occasionally - due to living in the west-metro; long-drive. Anyway, I’ll be bringing 1-3 people with me too! Keep showing up though, it’s definitely fun!

That’s cool guys. I appreciate it. Like i said i’m new to the area and i didn’t know what was common knowledge here was. I’m also glad to see a lot of game diversity.

Hey, anyone got any casuals going on today? I’m dying to get some in for AE and I jusr came to the rosedale mall to find out it’s been cancelled. I hate online.

Hey everyone, stumbled across this thread after looking up any tournaments happening in MN. Great to see there is some FGC here! Have a couple of questions about the casuals and community in general. I live about an hour and a half from the nearest place for casuals so I was just wondering if there were any online tournaments or something similar. Is there any sort of age restriction or preference (under 18)? Do you all play on one console (PC,PS3,XBOX360)? I’m mainly a PC SF4 and SFxT player and considering a large amount of fighting game stuff happens on the coasts, I don’t get a lot of great connections. Playing with people from nearby areas would be fantastic! Thanks in advance for the answers, I’m just curious I guess. ;P
We strictly do offline tournaments here, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. It just takes A LOT more work to do. There is no age restrict because we want to welcome all types of people. If you want to get in some online games, I am sure a lot wont mind playing. Just ask.
Which direction 1.5 hours away do you live? There are other people from that far out that come into the cities to play, who might also be interested in playing locally (assuming they’re in the same area as you).

We don’t usually do any official online tournaments. As for age, we don’t really have any restrictions or preferences in general. We have people who come by regularly ranging between high-school age and married with children (although the ones who are unmarried without children seem to have more time to stop by). We usually play on PS3 since that’s the equipment that we have for casuals and tourneys, but we have plenty of people who play on Xbox at home or at private gatherings, and a few folks who play on PC at home.
Great, thanks again for the info guys! I live pretty much straight south, Owatonna to be exact. Hopefully I will be able to make it out there sometime soon so I can get my butt handed to me.
Sorry of the double post, but I have a questions. first one is does anyone here use or have a seimitsu button stick? if so could I use it at this upcoming comicade event? or could you bring it please, I am a 360 player only and i normally use Happ competition buttons but I can play seimitsu fine too. Second question is around this time two years ago there was a pretty big tournament you GNG ran over in Mounds view I believe it was called “Combo breaker” will you guys be doing another big event like that again?

#8620

I don’t think you’ll get much in the way of bites on the stick loan. Any reason you haven’t dual modded, or gone to something even more versatile like a PS360+ pcb? Seeing that you’re using Happs already suggests to me that you’re not exactly using mass market sticks in the first place.

As far as the large events go, I know Rick and crew are working on a couple larger events. Nothing announced yet.
