Something i’ve noticed is that abels have block strings that they do and then they add stepkick at the end. From my experience with abel he can’t combo into step kick unless it’s from a deep cross-up\jump-in or counterhit, so during the block string look at what he’s doing and attack in between whatever normal and the stepkick (it’ll probably be a stringof crouching shorts). Math-wise you’ve got four frames between his most positive normal on block to make the magic happen.
On your Wake-up:
*Meterless abel: TT beats throws, cl.hk beats all headbutts but ex, TT will beat all dash punches on startup, wheel kick and CoD (whiff and continue) might beat backdash and FA’s for sure. Falling sky beats neutral jump
*Abel w/meter: EX TT beats any strikes, EX Falling sky might be able to grab you out of a jump back if you’re in the corner
It’s a repost, but it may help you understand the TT mixups and how to apply them on him and how he applies his mixups on you.
