Need some opinons for mod

Hi!

I have a Madkatz SE case and a Hori EX2 case coming in the mail, and I’m trying to figure out how to put my wired PSX PCB in them.

What’s the best way to have start/select buttons WITHOUT drilling new holes in the cases? Are there little buttons that I can put into the top of the EX2 (where the start button usually is), or small buttons I can mount into the small window on the SE?

I think the little buttons that come with the EX2 don’t have microswitches, so I can’t hook them up to the PCB. Any ideas?

I don’t really have tools to drill new holes in the case, so any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Will Sanwa SDM-18’s (found here - http://www.lizardlick.com/pages/pushbuttons.shtml) work?

You can solder to the PCB that is for those little buttons.
The PCB for LB and Back, PCB for Start and RB is Common Ground.

So just go from your PSX PCB to the HORI Fighting Stick EX2 LB/Back/Start/RB PCB.

I think I saw somebody use one of these for the ex2. If the hole in the ex2 is 1/2 in. then these will work.

You can use the small Buttons Sanwa has.

Sanwa SDM-18; dav3yb used them on his HORI Fighting Stick EX2.

You have to use a step bit in a drill to widen the holes for these.

Thanks for the suggestions guys - those Radioshack ones are probably my best bet, but they’re expensive. =P
