EVO World Finals: Rio Las Vegas, July 29-31 2011 and the New Evo Tournament Season
It?s official. Evolution World Finals, the world?s premier open competitive fighting game tournament, will take place at the Rio Casino and Resort in Las Vegas on July 29-31. And with the introduction of the brand new Evolution 2011 Tournament Season, this year?s event will without a doubt be the biggest and baddest ever.

A Quick Introduction to Evolution World Finals
If you?re new to the fighting game scene and Evo is something that is new to you, here?s a very brief primer: As the world?s largest open fighting game tournament, the Evolution Championship Series has grown into a global event attracting thousands of competitors of the highest caliber from all over the world seeking victories, cash prizes, and community respect. For more than a decade, the tournament is where new talent emerges as champions, and where reigning champions grow into legends.

However, in recent years, Evo has evolved (no pun intended) into something more. It?s where community members and players ranging anywhere from the casual gamer and spectator to the hardcore tournament junkie can gather en masse and connect to meet in person, learn about the newest fighting game titles and hardware, witness the history in the making, and most importantly, throw down against opponents from all over the world. No matter who you ask, they?ll all tell you the same thing: If there?s only one event you can attend, Evolution is the tournament you will not want to miss.

I want to go

#3

So being that Evo is on my birthday - does that mean all of my drinks are paid for this year? I’ll warn you - it’s a LOT of drinks.

#4

Oooh this year will be filthy with all the SSFIV/Marvel 3 hotness. Can’t wait! Gonna be practicing real tough for it now. :clown::lovin::angel:

#5

Sure. You know what you’re agreeing to when you let a guy buy all your drinks, right?

I’m slightly sad that it’s not on the strip this year.

#6

But if I let LOTS of guys buy all my drinks…

#7

Very. Rio again? Weak. Super Joe’s gonna run into rats and syringes while looking for an atm. Or something to that effect.

Lets. Get.

#8

The Rio? how far off the strip is that?
Im guessing its grimy compared to Caesars palace. I wonder what happened as to why is not on the strip? oh well/

Im looking to be their thurs night to monday morning, so whos looking to room together?

Im looking for the non-party types, so i dont come to my room late on fri after eating only to find 30 people and 6 setups and somebody i dont know sleeping on my spot if you know what i mean.

#9

It was at the Rio in 2009, for those who remember. It’s really not far from the strip at all. but yes…lets get

#10

The Rio is still nice. Our room was hella big the last time. A little off the strip so you will need to get a cab for anything.

#11

If Marvel 3 is any good I will go.

#12

I guess Caesar’s thought the EVO crowd wasn’t classy enough.

#13

Dugg: DRUUUUUNNNNKKKKK

#14

The Rio? WEAK.

Still hype for the tournament though. Who wants to go in on a suite with me?

#15

Well, whichever Cannon brother was on Wakeup SRK said that the management there was great to work with, also the hotel costs look to be about half the cost of Caesar’s so I’m sure there are plenty of people in this scene who will be happy about that. I just hope they have a Fat Tuesday there cuz that place was too good.
