PLAY THEM ALL @ LOVEGETY STATION - 09/13/2008 (SFIV/CvS2/MvC2/3S/GGAC/T6)

#1

Thanks to Brandon for the new poster. Looking to get IMG tags in here soon.

One of the new changes I’m implementing is putting the GTASF related tournament threads in Canada discussion. With the exception of The T Tourney, every other tournament only draws local (or Montreal/Ottawa) comp and considering the lazy nature of people on the Internet, it made sense to put it all in one place.

Akuma is banned.

#3

Can anyone confirm whether Akuma is unlocked or if the secondary costumes are unlocked?

#4

I don’t think you can access the costumes without the card. Unless Capcom has some stupid unlock code for them.

#5

How early should we expect the arcade to be open on a Saturday? Like 1 pm?

#6

I vote a ban on Akuma. The version he is right now is completely untested in actual gameplay by the devs, and who knows what retarded shit he has going for him…

I will run A3.

#7

i vote we make akuma mandatory, all players must use him.

edit, does not lovegetty open at 3 pm on saturdays

#8

So do you think we should do something about SF4 and the whole pay thing for matches?

Jason brought it up and mentioned that players should both put in a dollar so it covers the first two games, loser of the second match then pays for both sides in match 3, etc.

Then again, if we leave it the way it is now:
50c per then loser pays for both, I guess it leaves you more incentive to win two straight.

Justin: The fierce kick (1P) for the 400 in 1 is not working. The PCB for the machine is done for. I’ve spoken to the owner and he says he’s not going to fix it since it’ll cost too much. So you may have to cancel super turbo and alpha 3. I don’t think anyone is going to want to play without a fierce kick.

#10

The whole passing money across is annoying to say the least but I feel it’s the best format for rewarding the players who win the first game. Forcing both sides to pay a game a piece provides no true incentive to get it done two and done. I’ll be sticking with the original format for this coming tournament.

#11

people were quite content to play SF4 without a fierce kick

isnt advancing and winning the tournament a big enough incentive?

#12

This is Toronto, we are a bunch of sandbaggers. I’m surprised to see you saying that.

#13

only because it involves me paying more money if i sandbag and lose

edit: this is pui, at k2s house about to leave for LG

#14

Isn’t winning to advance more of an incentive than saving 50cents?

#15

I’ll be in the motherland… have fun guys

don’t beast too hard jay

#16

You’re going back to whiteland?

#17

I’ll run tekken 6 for you.
I’ll help out with SF4 as well.

I also don’t recommend changing Tekken 6 to event mode. Each round that ends, the replay will show and we cannot cut it. That will make it longer. I’m pretty sure everybody is fine with pay per play.

I may run MvC2 for you but can we change this to Low Tier tournament instead. LOL That way I have a fighting chance.

NeoRussell

#18

I 2nd the low tier mvc2 suggestion.

#19

So the PCB in the 400 in 1 is shot and the manager doesn’t want to repair it realizing it’s a lost cause. As such, ST and A3 have been taken off the tournament roster.

I’m also enforcing a 12 player minimum for all the official games. I’d prefer to do 16 but that coudl be pushing it for a few of these games.
