Protective/clear coat?

#1

Does anyone have any experience using a lacquer or polyurethane clear coat on a fight stick? They seem to work well on figures/models hiding scratches/scuffs after sanding.
I wanted to sand out the scratches on one of my old Mad Catz sticks but I don’t want to paint it or anything just apply a tough protective matte clear coat but not sure if it will wear off or do anything weird to the plastic they use on the Mad Catz sticks.

It seems the Fightstick Pro they spray some sort of coat over it to give it the shine and grainy feel, I can see where they got sloppy, and they surely got it all over the bottom of the metal plate too(No clue how they did that)

you will want to use something made for plastics… like krylon fusion clear coat… http://www.amazon.com/Krylon-2444-Fusion-Plastic-Clear/dp/B001TNMWBM
