So I’ve decided that I’m going to replace my current monitor in my cab with a Sony P1130 pc monitor.

I plan on decasing it and mounting it in plywood as like this:
I will cut a piece of plywood in the shape of the original mounting brackets for the 25" monitor and then cut a hole in the middle of the board for the 21" monitor and mount it in it.
A few questions though.
Should I mount to the over or underside of the plywood to get the correct mounting height? I am using a flat panel display.
Should I use 1/2" or 3/4" plywood?
If I paint the plywood black and mount to the bottom of the plywood do you think it will look good as a bezel?
I’m open to using something other than plywood if someone has a better suggestion.
