Question regarding Flash Players

Hey SRK,

I’ve got a question that I can’t find an answer to; when you watch a flash video (like on youtube) does the video have a size?

That is, say I watch a flash video that’s about 2 minutes in length: when a flash player loads the video, is it technically downloading the file? Or is it just loading an interface that plays the file at no extra download cost?

I’m curious because my internet provider caps how much I can download before they charge me for additonal usage.

Yes, this is a confusing question, and I’m not sure how to word it.

If this belongs in the computer help thread, just delet it and I’ll post it there.

If you’re reffering to the site streaming the media to your computer, yes it does that. But once the browser is “done” and the video has 100% downloaded I don’t see any other reason why it would require to be actively connected to the site. The videos after all get stored in your temporary folder so are watchable via the site without the need to download it to you a second time (to some extent).
