Replacing analog sticks with resistors, why, there's no need!

I can’t understand why ,when removing the analog sticks ,(be it on ps or xbox pads)people are told to replace them with normal resistors ,which will keep the pad from going haywire.

You have the parts there already, just cannibalize what you need and rewire the grounds if necessary ,i’ve done this myself on a crappy madcatz ps2 pad and i’m sure this method will work on analog triggers aswell.

It’s less confusing ,especially when explaining it to a non techie and needs no new (resistors) parts to be bought,(maybe some wire)!
