RULES
[1] All games are Double Elimination --Best 2 out of 3
[2] Food is allowed, but please be clean~
[3] Let’s try to stay organized. In the event that large numbers show, we don’t want to cause confusion nor waste time in this event.
[4] No stealing. I cannot stress this enough. People spend time and money on things that don’t belong to you, so don’t take it.
[5] Don’t create static. We are on public grounds, so fighting outside of virtual reality is against the rules and authorities will be around to make sure nobody is harmed.
[6] No button shouldering, provoke/taunt button “IS” optional.
I will not allow anybody to map buttons otherwise, example, P+K set to a single button.
[7] This is a (B.Y.O.C. = Bring Your Own Controller/converter or Joystick) tournament.
You are responsible for your equipment and we will not supply anyone with a controller or converter at this tournament.
[8] No pausing the game during the tournament for any reason what so ever. If a cell phone rings, you are asked to hold all calls until your match is over or before hand. PLEASE LEAVE ALL PHONE CELL PHONES ON VIBRATE. If your joypad or joystick malfunctions during a tourney, a judge will come to resolve the issue.
[9] Come to this event and make some noise! =D

CONDUCT
Players must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner. Permanent ejection of a player from the tournament is at the staff’s discretion. Any sign of cheating will also result in forfeit of the game. Any intentional forfeiting or conspiring to manipulate the brackets will result in ejection and possible suspension from future tournaments.

On all console tournament games:

This is a (B.Y.O.C. = Bring Your Own Controller/converter or Joystick) tournament for all of the console games. You are responsible for your equipment and we will not supply anyone with a controller or converter at this tournament for any console tournament.

If you hit the start button or a malfunction in your equipment happens during a match that makes the game pauses or resets during a tournament match get the head judge in charge of running that tournament to decide what will happen next for that match. Replays are automatic if it’s at the beginning of the match and you have played 5-10 seconds in the game with no one having an advantage in the match. It’s not my problem if “YOUR STICK” malfunction’s during a tournament. I WILL BE THE FINAL SAY ON ANY PROBLEMS THAT MY TOURNAMENT JUDGES CAN’T RESOLVE!

I don’t believe in button shouldering due to me growing up playing 2D fighters in the arcades and that I want to prep for SBO. I want to keep the tournaments as close to arcade perfect as I can, so I came up with this solution:

“Button shouldering” will “NOT” be allowed in the following games:

(THAT MEANS IF YOU RESET YOUR BUTTONS YOU MUST PUT THE DEFAULT MULTI-BUTTONS ON BLANK or no function!!!) So that mean you won’t have your 3xkick button, or 3xpunch button. There is but ONE exception and ONE exception only. STREET FIGHTER IV IS ALLOWED TO HAVE 3XKICK AND 3XPUNCH SET TO A SINGLE BUTTON! Any default presets that are “NOT” like the arcade set up for other fighting games are “not allowed”. We are trying to make it as close to arcade type tournament as possible. I don’t care where you put them on your controler/joystick but you should only have the following buttons input’s for the following games:

SFIV inputs that are allowed:

  1. Jab = Light Punch
  2. Strong punch = Medium Punch
  3. Fierce punch = Fierce Punch
  4. Short = Light Kick
  5. Forward = Medium Kick
  6. Roundhouse Kick = Fierce Kick
  7. 3xKick
  8. 3xPunch

BlazBlue inputs that are allowed:

  1. A = Weak
  2. B = Strong/Medium
  3. C = Fierce
  4. D = Drive
  5. Taunt

T6 inputs that are allowed:

  1. 1 = Left Punch
  2. 2 = Right Punch
  3. 3 = Left Kick
  4. 4 = Right Kick

MAN I WANTED TO BE PART OF THE HOSTING AN HAVE MY NAME RECOGNIZED AND WHATNOT XDDD

#3

i’ll go if I can get a ride… I don’t know if I can because anyone from alabama that would go won’t be here then because college will be out so they’ll be elsewhere…

so it’s actually better for me if this is on a school weekend

#4

Name= Atlanta Dracula
event= SFIV
Can bring a 360 w/ SF4 if needed

#5

peekaboo :karate:

a ranbat event in my home town of colonbust? well thats enough to bring me out of my newborn baby induced streetfighting haitus!

name: spookydonkey
event: strit fayter fawr
volunteer: x360 setup(sf4) & my cagey self

alternate… ever get your hori working? we can take care of it if need be…
& wheres all the csu signups? being taken care of locally?

perhaps some locals will crawl out of the woodwork… i hope so… maybe the elusive coldshock will make an appearance :amazed:

do you live in auburn? its no problem for me to shoot over to opelika/tigertown area, ive made the drive to & from EAMC like 1600x recently… let me know whats up

#6

Most of the Columbus crew doesn’t have an SRK account, so I have to tell them by word of mouth =P
Nah, never got the Hori working. But as it turns out, I’d like to move the Octo-gate into my SE stick anyway~
If that’s not a problem of course

#7

columbus crew needs to post up!

anyway… you got a new stick? nice
but nah that wouldnt be a problem, the SE restrictor clicks off & the 8way clicks in
just have to disassemble the hori mod… then we can put the SE stock restrictor in the hori as similarly as we did the 8way & i can hit that wire/button up & youll have 2 operable sticks!

also, if you havent already… we should get some word out @ local game stores n stuff… did playNtrade close or just move location? which leads me to ask if gamelink is even still open as well… hmmmm ill hit you up on aim

one more thing: how long is this ranbat season & how many/what is the frequency of events?

#8

The RanBat is every 2 weeks, Fridays on Official Game Night~
It will last 6 tournaments long.

Play N Trade is out of business, btw

#9

whoah for some reason i though it was on the 9th… friday is a work day… is it “game night” or do the tourneys start @ 2pm like it says in first post? if its 2pm i cant guarantee being able to make it due to work :annoy:

is gamelink also out of business along w/pNt?

#10

GameLink is still in business I think.

And registration will just close at 2pm. The tourney itself happens during game “NIGHT”, and probably start the RanBat before GameNight so that competing players won’t miss out on GameNight.

#11

i do live in auburn but… take no offense i’m not keen on the idea of a dude i’ve never even met before giving me a ride to a tournament outside my city and having no other way of getting home

if you do happen to swing by auburn though from time to time and you have free time shoot me a PM on here we can get some games in pretty much anything

(sf4 is what i’m best at but i’ll play almost anything else as long as its not the newest smash game or soul calibur or virtua fighter)

#12

hahah none taken man, totally understandable in this age of sexual predation

i would prolly have had to rescind my invite anyway since for some reason i thought this event was on saturday… might have to work friday daytime hours, ahwell

regardless, hope you can make it up!
ive peeked in on the AL thread from time to time, but do you auburn guys get up regularly @ someones house like they do up in eastpoint or @ the university more like alt & columbus crew do here? regardless id like to come check out some auburn gaming… sf4 is my best also & my “as long as its not” list is like yours cept replace vf w/tekken lol

& yo alt if i do have to work friday can you go ahead & reg me for sf?
also about pNt: supposedly dude ran out of $$$(franchisee w/no corporate megastructure backing) & apparently gamelink was actually makin $$ so he kept that open… but he has a new partner & pNt is scheduled to reopen in march

#13

Gotcha

#14

davidson center is the student center right? i havn’t set foot on that campus since o4. i never new they gave the buildings human names =P

#15

sometimes it’s ssj george bush’s apartment
the other times when we can’t play there then it’s at this guy’s trailer (he doesnt post here)

right now there’s nothing going on here because college isn’t in but as soon as it starts back up around the 11th we should be getting some games on

the uni has a game room (ps3 that used to have mvc2 but now has t6 instead) but the people there are all scrubby and they only allow students to play there anyway

shoot me a pm about it whenever and i can give you my phone number and then just call me whenever youre in town past the 11th

#16

Yo, I’m invited too, right? :wonder:

#17

yeah of course if you’re ever in auburn swing by

you already have our mutual friend’s phone number anyway (i think?)

#18

The second tournament is on the 22nd

#19

2 PM on a friday? :frowning:
:amazed: :shake:
I had planned on making the second one for awhile now but I have class 9-10, 11-12 and 3-6 [LAB CAN’T MISS] on Friday.
SADNESS
sorry alty+justin :frowning:

-ben

#20

yeah, i still dont get the fridayness of it all
BUT
people werent showin up til around 5 & we didnt actually get goin til 630-7… & considering the modest turnout & how quickly it all went down(2hours tops?), i dont see why we cant push that time up a little more for this next one… get more casuals in @ the beginning & stuff

should prolly update that first post sir!

supposing the modest turnout is also the (understandable)reason behind no results thread , ill just say my piece here:

ggs to everyone
aj: thx for puttin this together, we gotta get more people to come out!(workin on some things)
drew: you comin back down for the next one?
ej: goodshit man… so if i pick rufus next time youll pick sagat? :bgrin:

see you guys on the 22nd
