SE Stick modding and questions (First Stick)

#1

So my friend is giving me an SE for free (the one below) and I have a couple questions.

  1. Do I have to buy a new pcb if one of the buttons is semi-unresponsive?
  2. How much would it cost to dual mod, replace the buttons, get a new gate (8 way), and replace the stick?
  3. How easy is it to replace the gate and the parts?
  4. How do you replace the gate and the parts?
    Thanks for the help

restrictor plate is about 8 bucks i think
joy stick is about 25
buttons somewhere in the 30s
switch the button with another to see if that one button is just busted.

check out lizard lick amusements for the items to buy. Its pretty easy actually to put together.

#5

Wow… Perfect lol. How much would it cost?

#6

I think it should be a bit over 50 or around that without shipping for sanwa buttons and stick.

#7

Does anyone know how much it would cost to dual mod it and if it is possible or not?

#8

If you want someone to do it for you, check Need a Modder/Builder in Your Area? Check This Post
Otherwise I think it depends on what you do it with.

#9

Dern… There is no one in North Florida that can do it. ._.

#10

You can ship it to me to do it.
I’m California.

#11

I feel like that would be extremely expensive xP

#12

$110 for the Dual Mod.
$26 to ship back and forth. :wgrin:

I’ll do the parts replacement for you too.

#13

I need to get a job first. Lol. But if I do dual mod it in the future and no one can do it, I’ll keep you in mind.
I think that this will work for now since I commonly play PS3 and PC. I just want a 360 compatible stick so I have all my bases covered.

what can be replaced without soldering (joystick, buttons)?
sanwa, seimitsu(which ones?)…
can you put led buttons; when i press it, it lights red (without soldering)?

#15

Just watch the video from earlier in the thread.

i watched, but still can’t find how to put LED…
do i need extra power for LED buttons or USB power is enough…
