[Sep 22, 2012] Red September 4 (Jackson, Mississippi)

In its 4th year, Red September is back and with the support of the fighting game community its better than ever! It should be no surprise to everyone that has attended our tournaments over the past couple years that they are rapidly growing among the south in the fighting game scene. With that said it’s becoming increasingly more difficult on ourselves to stick to our time schedule just out of the sheer number of players entering each tournament. Please try to help us out and be on time so we can in exchange provide you a smoother and less chaotic tournament experience.

$15 for those that take part within the tournament
$5 for spectators
$10 for each game you take part within

Tournament Rules:

Double elimination brackets

  • Double-Blind Select can always be chosen to begin a match.
  • Winner keeps same character. Loser can always change characters.
  • Bring Your Own Controller: While there will probably be many players willing to lend you a controller/stick, there is NO guarantee. You WILL be disqualified if you cannot start the match within the allotted time.
  • Button mapping and converters ARE allowed while turbo is NOT.
  • There will be ZERO tardiness tolerance. If you do not report to your match within a reasonable amount of time, you WILL be forfeited.
  • There will be ZERO stank tolerance. If you did not shower, we will SPRAY YOU DOWN.
  • All players are required to notify staffers of the results of their match.
  • Wireless sticks/pads/remotes will be allowed. However, we require that you pull out your battery when you are not playing to avoid disrupting tournament matches. If you disrupt other people’s matches, you risk forfeiting your next match.
  • Every person is responsible for the functionality of their controller. A “button check” may (and should) be asked for prior to every match.
  • Pausing or restarting the game/match for any reason, except with the consent of the opponent will result in a forfeit of that particular game/round (whichever is smaller). This includes battery/controller problems.
  • All disputes will be handled by the tournament organizers. T.O.s must be notified soon after disputes occur. All decisions are final.

We encourage everybody to bring any and all equipment if possible. This will speed up tournaments and help everything run more smoothly.

We encourage all people to keep their sticks/controllers/battery packs on-hand at all times as we are not responsible for missing equipment.

All tournaments will either be on CRTs or community-tested “lagless” monitors (most likely the ASUS VH236H or VH238H).

We appreciate everybody that travels and we know that players are just looking for competition. If you inform us of your party, we will do our best to ensure that you do not play each other in the opening round of the bracket (location-based seeding).
Tournament brackets will be created with Tio Tournament Organizer.

The following games will be played at the tournament:
Super Street Fighter 4 AE 2012
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
MK 9
Street Fighter X Tekken

I’m assuming it’s going to be on 360?

All game will be ran on the ps3 sir

awesome

I play on 360 and can’t afford a fightstick. Is there any point in me attending this if I will be forced to use an unfamiliar PS3 pad?

There will be plenty of fight sticks there that people will allow you to use sir

yea Im a SFxT player that owns xbox so if people are willing to let other people use there arcade sticks would be great

Yes sir they will, they will be plenty of square and octagon gates and maybe some happs to use at the tourney.

Rod, can you add my stream to the info box at the top? Thanks.

Sure thing Sir.

I have 360 -> PS3 converters if you (or anyone) want(s) to buy one. They also do PS2 -> 360 and PS2 -> PS3. $10 each.

I’ll buy one! They work good? And do you have to open up your fight stick to install it?

Noone I’ve ever sold one to has complained. You can try them out before you commit to buying one if you want. And no, it’s just an outside converter- you plug your 360 USB end into it and then you plug the converter into the PS3.

SmokeMaxx always on the hustle lol, j/k, always on the lookout I see good sir.

Yea ill get one then
