STR Presents: X-Mania USA AND Tournament of Legends II @ EVO 2014

Is top 8 for TOL2 on Saturday too or is that only for X-Mania?

Top 8 on stage is for X-MANIA. ToL2 will finish Friday night.

This year, we need your help more than ever to make it a reality! We’re offering exciting Street Fighter prizes for a donation drive that will help enable us to host international guests, provide resources for the tournaments, and promote and commemorate this event 20 years in the making.

  • We will offer some goodies for certain donation amounts:

  • $100 - A ToL II poster signed by the qualifiers.

  • $75 - A commemorative ToL II Final Tour t-shirt. (The final version will have all the finalized qualifiers and dates and may look slightly different.)

  • $50 – Unsigned ToL II poster.

  • $25 – ST Revival bumper sticker (North America only sorry!)

  • $10 – Raffle entry to win a signed ToL II poster or a ToL II t-shirt.

  • However, every donation helps no matter how small. We appreciate each and every one of you who can help!

WOW! Hype! ST community is the fucking best, good luck to everyone I’ll definitely be there.

Not sure if this is thread-worthy, but I feel Watson is still a very competent player, and he should do well if he picks O.Sagat instead of Ryu. His Rog seems strong, also, but of course not as disgusting as Afro’s, who seems to have mastered much of Rog’s OS bullshit. Damdai is extremely strong, but O.Sagat is even better than Rog against his characters, with the sole exception of Dhalsim. That money-match will be something I’ll want to see.

Hmm, maybe we should make a new thread for the Damdai v. Watson MM? Whatever, fuck it.

Even a rusty Watson is a very real threat, a mad Watson is even better. His O.Sagats still extremely strong, whereas he’s just solid with everyone else. His playstyle is very different from Afro. Watson’s much more footsies and reaction based, similar to how he was in CPS-1, whereas Afro is all about aggression and pressure.

I think a warmed-up Watson v. Damdai should be a very exciting match to watch.

Whoa, Watson/Afro MM?

Too hype.

ST never die.

I like Watson over Damdai. Watson is not at his peak and hardly plays the game anymore but he is still very dangerous a la when Jordan returned wearing the four five and dropped the double nickel on the Knicks. Damdai is obviously very strong but when things aren’t going his way, he tends to get flustered and that’s when the chinks in his armor become more apparent. I think Watson will do enough to get under his skin and get the victory.

Will the H2H cabinets in TOL have the UD-USB converters on them? I know it says X-Mania USA will.

Sorry that wasn’t made clear. The answer is yes.

Wait, there’s no qualifier in Seattle this year? Also, everyone remembers when an X-Mania tournament in Japan allowed a 1 Gouki team instead of a 3 character team. Was that X-Mania or Starcup? Can’t remember…

There are still qualifiers that have not been announced yet, hence the “TBA” on the list.

I see, I know that rcaido usually brings his cabs to NWM, and may bring it this year as well
