The Definitive, YOU MUST HAVE, Fighting Games List (ALL Systems)

#1

As the title states.

One thing I’ve noticed is that the average attention span for the repeat threads is like, 3 months or so. SO, we’ll sticky this one with all the good shit that every SRKer should have/try for any system(that’s still remotely popular, no 3DO/Jaguar suggestion lists).

So start posting, and it’ll all get compiled in this first post.

Isn’t the DC version one of those AE-style compilation games, and pretty wack? I thought the best console version was the import PS2 Darkstalkers Collection…

since i’m a doujin fighter / PC fighting game head, the only doujin fighting games worth their salt imho:

akatsuki blitzkampf
axel city
big bang beat
touhou immaterial and missing power ( and scarlet weather rhapsody, whenever that comes out )
destruction desire ( hella broken, but fun in that xvsf / hokuto no ken way )
dogma ( just because it had some really neat ideas, and its a shame it was left unfinished )
eternal fighter zero
fate sword dance ( hey, i kinda liked it…at least till crucis fatal fake comes out  )
mai- girls revolution ( it has a cat / panda thing that fights like dio brando…too good )
maribato
melty blood act cadenza ver.b ( i guess this doesnt really count as doujin anymore… )
metal gun III shout of the arms ( STILL fun, and still one of the best games on this list that no one plays )
mindarms ( has some really broken shit, but it’s very, very playable )
MONSTER ( it’s dead, but i still kinda like it )
queen of hearts 2001 party’s breaker
queen of hearts 99
super cosplay wars ultra final ed. ( i havent touched it in months, though… )
streets of rage remake ( the remake by bomber games…vs mode with all the remixed music, stages and characters is way too good )
valkyrie fight tag ( as terrible as some people think it is, i still really enjoy it from time to time )

#17

he may be talking about Vampire Chronicle for Matching Service. Anyway way it goes, seconding the shit out of Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection (PS2/Japan Only).

Fuck yes.

Mad Power Stone 2 love, and 1.

Fixed.

Why are people saying you SHOULD have the dumb buggy version of GGXX accent core on ps2 ?
Wait for the accent core plus to be released, else it’s not worth it.

#20

Just added my comments as to which version to avoid like the plague. Im sure people would say DC version or Arc only for MvC2.
