The format is double elimination, best of three until the Top 8, which then changes to best of five until the end of the tournament. Upon completion of the group stages, the bracket is reset and all players are seeded into the winners bracket for the top 16.
In order to participate, you must:
 Sign-up at Challonge
One hour prior to the tournament, check in at Challonge
Enter the /r/SF Discord, #sf_eu_monthly channel.
Change your Discord and Challonge display to match your CFN.
NEW! Confirm your presence on Discord when called out after the check in is over, but before the tournament officially begins.
Please wait for an official statement from the TOs before you begin playing. When we close the check-in, the brackets will be re-created with the final entrants and only then will you know who you’re supposed to be fighting.
For the off-stream stage, there will be no direct communication from the TOs. After the tournament has officially begun, don’t wait for it, just contact your opponent directly and set up the match, then report your results as described below.
For the on-stream stage (Top 8), you will be invited to a lobby by one of the TOs. Do not play any matches on your own.
Please take a screenshot after every match you play so that you have proof of your win if anyone claims otherwise. You may enter your own results at Challonge or inform one of the organizers in a private discord message.
If you experience other difficulties that you would like to report, first and foremost record your match as proof. If you can prove that your opponent disconnected, for example, you automatically move on to the next round as the winner. The TOs have the final decision on all conflict matters.
The sf_eu_monthly Discord channel is for general chat, announcements and so on. There will be a second channel, called sf_eu_issues, where you can report any issues you are experiencing for all TOs to see (instead of messaging one directly). Please do not abuse this channel and use it only as intended to avoid miscommunication and ensure a smooth tournament.
All characters are allowed. Only the loser of the last set can change their character, the winner must stay with their initial pick.
This is a casual tournament, so you’re fighting to have fun and to earn bragging rights. As a token of appreciation from r/StreetFighter, however, you will also receive a shiny medal flair if you place in the Top 3, just like the NA tournament winners do.
If anything is still unclear to you after reading this post and the FAQ, please ask away in this thread.
