Bracket will start by NOON

VENUE: Seattle Center Pavilion
Warren Ave N & Thomas St
Seattle, Washington, United States
This is just on the north side of Thomas St. ARRIVE EARLY to get free street parking, else you may well have to pay for parking. We are right next to the Key Arena in the Seattle Center Pavilion building (NOT the Center House)

You all will have 4 Xbox 360s at the venue, but only one of them has SFIV unlocked… so we need Hard Drives and SFIV disks. If you want more set ups, then please bring them!!

FRIENDLIES WILL BE GREATLY RESTRICTED during tournament time. Once the brackets are done, you can friendly your brains out, but if you are playing a friendly or MM on a tournament TV, or are late to your announced match due to a friendly, you WILL BE DQ’ed. Tournament is FIRST, friendlies and MMs are SECOND. Get the event done, you can do whatever you want.

I may make it, but the price is steepish:sweat: im a poor dude.

#3

Just gotta bust my balls on that Sunday SF4.

Can’t make it, good luck to everyone that can.

#4

Yeah depending on what time SFIV starts, will determine if I can make it for the Sunday (work at 8pm every sunday night).

Might I suggest running SFIV first before running the other tournaments? Or were you planning on running all of them at the same time?

#5

that sux…I won’t be in town that weekend…

#6

no 3s no way… lol

#7

Sounds fun, might attend. But.

I f’ing hate full page pop ups. Makes the site look sleazy and untrustworthy.

#8

It’s a few days after my 21st - I may be too drunk and/or broke to participate.

#9

So I am still working on the SFIV pricing… I should have final venue fee’s end of this week/early next week…
I am trying to get it down to $20…which would essentially be $15 Event + $5 Venue… but i have to make sure the Brawl/Melee attendance is enough to cover costs…

I plan to run SFIV and Brawl at same time… So we would have a 10am - Noon start time… depending when the venue will let us in.

I think I just fixed the AllIsBrawl link pop-up… They added “ads” to AiB and they are frustrating to say the least.

#10

I’d like to make it to this but honestly anything over 20$ to 25$ is a bit steep for SF4 for me.

#11

yeah $20-25 is pretty steep

most I’ve paid was $30 just to compete in PAX this past weekend

#12

If I feel my skills are back up to where I want them to be then maybe…course, if noone else goes then probably not. :[

What did the turnout look like last time?

#13

We had about 12 Smash kids enter, which was awesome of them to expand their game knowledge. On top of that, we had roughly 10-15 of us there at noon, and that dwindled down to about 8 by the time it started at 5:30.

I doubt it will start that late again, which makes it pretty much a no go for me.

#14

Imma be there.

#15

$20 would be same entry as NWM if I am not mistaken…
and only $5ish of that would go to venue fee…where Smash players are paying $15 for Venue Fee and $20 for Singles and $10 for Doubles I think… So based on the pricing for everyone else its a huge break for the SFIV crowd.

So based on X people coming, 1st Place Prizes would be Y
20 people = $150
30 people = $225
40 people = $300
50 people = $375

We will pay out to 3rd Place…maybe with 50 people would be pay to 4th or 5th (which would lower 1st place a little)

#16

Has the specific room been determined yet?

#17

Updated Halo payouts and entry (dropped entry for Halo a little)

OK lets do $20 for SFIV entry… $15 going to Prizes, $5 to Venue (huge discount for SFIV compared to the other games.)
So this also prob changes the “payout” example I have above.

I am still working on the exact room. I am not liking the way Seattle Center is nickle/diming me for things…so if some other venue pops up, I will take it. But right now, it looks like the Seattle Center Pavilion room.

#18

hehe “friendlies”

watch out for “dittos” and “jab fakes” lol

#19

Yeah dude. That’s the terminology. :coffee:

(dunno bout “jab fakes” though…)

#20

so what day is sf4 on?
