Tri-mod Question

Is it possible to make a fightstick that can play on ps2, ps3, and 360? Cause I had thoughts of doing something like that when I can afford it.

get an MC cthulhu and 360 PCB, install neutrik for RJ45 and make your own cables

Start Xbox 360 Arcade Stick:
[]Add ChImp for PlayStation 3, then add PlayStation DualShock.
or
[
]Add Multi-Console Cthulhu and Imp v2, then make PlayStation 2 cable.
or

Replace Xbox 360 PCB with Paewang or PS360, then add PlayStation DualShock.
PS360 and Paewang do Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

or

Replace Xbox 360 PCB with PS360+, then make PlayStation 2 cable.
PS360+ does Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.

Start with PlayStation 3 Arcade Stick:
[]Add Xbox 360 PCB and Imp v2, then add PlayStation DualShock.
or
[
]Replace PlayStation 3 PCB with Paewang or PS360, then add PlayStation DualShock.
PS360 and Paewang do Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

or

Replace PlayStation 3 PCB with PS360+, then make PlayStation 2 cable.
PS360+ does Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.

Start with PlayStation 2 Arcade Stick:
[]Add ChImp and Xbox 360 Controller PCB.
or
[
]Add PS360 or Paewang.
PS360 and Paewang do Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Yes, possible. What to use? What jdm714 says. How? Dual modding 101

so wait i get like a mc cthulu thing and replace the 360 pcb on it with a ps360 or paewang pcb and than put a ps2 pcb onto it?

It is redundant add Multi-Console Cthulhu and replace the Xbox 360 PCB with a PS360/Paewang and put PlayStation DualShock.

Xbox 360 PCB is Xbox 360 PCB, no need to replace with PS360/Paewang.
Multi-Console Cthulhu is already PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2, no need to add PlayStation DualShock.

Just add Multi-Console Cthulhu and Imp v2.
Then make PlayStation 2 cable.
Done.

Or you can just have a PS2 controller and use adapters for everything:

http://etokki.com/iNPiN-PS2-to-PS3-Converter

(There are cheaper PS2 to PS3 adapters, but the inpin is nice because it adds a Home button.)

That’s the way I’d do it. Most reliable, cleanest on the outside, and room for expandability (just make new system cables).

I’d just like to add the VLX and TE Kitty options to that list if you have those specific sticks.

My custom can play on PS3, PC, X-Box 360, PS2, PS1, DreamCast, etc. So yes it is possible with Toodles Cthulhu.

A semi-related question to Toodles: how bad would it be to hook up TWO ImpV2s?
Say something like: (please forgive me on the crude ascii illustration; ignore the dots that were used just to get spacing. Solid lines would be connection wires)

Xbox360 ____ ImpV2(b) ____ ImpV2(a) _____ USB cable
Cthulhu _____/ . . . . . . . . . . . /
PiiWee _________________/

So that you’d hold the button to get the ImpV2(a) to select between the PiiWee and the ImpV2(b), which in turn would auto-detect between X360/PS3?

Mind you, I’m really just asking this hypothetically, though…

Current draw is so low that it wouldn’t be a problem. Two things of concern though:

 1. The USB boards would be going through two Imps (two 4066 chips), adding to the resistance. May be a problem, may not be. Some consoles are finicky.
 2. Battery drain when connected to a WiiMote would be crap.
 3. No way in hell I’d support it. Best of luck, but you’d be on your own if you ran into problems.

Coo cool. Thanks for the info.
I was actually just wondering, in light of the train of thought of the OP.
I don’t actually plan to do this or anything…
