UCon@UConn! February 4-6: SSFIV, MBAA, GGAC, and AH3!

This entire post is subject to updates as I find out more information. We?re looking to have everything set by the week before the convention at the very latest. However, you can be rest assured that ***all of these tournaments are going to happen on Saturday (2/5/11) and Sunday (2/6/11)***, but casuals will be all weekend long!

UCon @ UConn (University of Connecticut) in Storrs, CT

February 4-6, 2011

The pinnacle of academia is not to be confused with the absence of gratification. Alas, the fissiparous nature of such concepts is but a mere construction of your subscription to the media. The (chocolate-covered) quarks of February 4th through the 6th will be the host to an amalgam of scholarly pursuit, daring execution, and the greatest victories that any of you reading this post will ever hope to achieve. If you are of quick wit, you have already grasped what awaits you in the blistery northern campus of the University of Connecticut. Rooted in the digital discourse of the planet, let us celebrate the competitive spirit (again) with some fighting games.

Alright, due to the amount of games that are being requested, I’m expanding this fighting game tournament business to both Saturday and Sunday. How would everyone feel about SSFIV being on Sunday?

As I posted up on MB, I’ll be there… probably. SF4, AH3, and MBAA. I don’t think any of the tournaments are going to be so huge that you’ll need to spread it out over two days. I can help run something if you need.

I will be there since I’m a UConn student but I probably wont play in any tournaments since I’m terrible. If anyone needs help finding their way around or something let me know

@HBRD: Any and all help running tournaments is appreciated. I want to be as efficient and organized as possible so everything runs smoothly.

I’ve updated the main post with times and dates! Now all you guys need to do is show up. Just a reminder, admission to the convention is free, so you don’t just have to play video games while you’re at UCon@UConn.

I will do my best to make it! I should have no issue

Haha uconn I remember that place.

Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

ill be there saturday running a table with my girlfriend. SSF4 should be on saturday :3

I’m in there for GGXXAC, SSFIV, and AH3.

I think MannyO, TommyTwoTime and myself will probably be coming sunday for some SSF4. How do the setups look?

Bring a set-up just incase. Last time I was at the Ucon tourney there wasn’t too many set-ups. If you have a ps3 please bring a set up.

Mindgam3, do you need more systems, more TVs, or both?

But seriously, all help is appreciated. Also, I bumped up SSFIV to 1:00pm on Sunday since UCon@UConn is closing up shop early on Sunday afternoon.

I should be able to bring a TV, PS2, PS3, SSFIV, and BBCS (even though I haven’t even played my copy of it). There’s a small chance I’ll have AH3 by then, but I wouldn’t count on it, unfortunately.

Can someone post a link to the Uconn campus weather alert. Convention vendors received an email that if the campus is closed on Saturday due to weather(its forecasted to snow) the convention will not be happening. This will be important for people coming out of state

Not sure if it will get listed here but this lists cancelations/delays: Emergency Closings

Work called me in so I won’t be able to go tomorrow. :frowning:

Probably not going to make it now either. Weather just sucks.
